Has anyone ever gotten a bikini wax (not do it yourself - at a salon) while pregnant?

Were they willing to do it or did they think you were crazy?

Did it hurt more than usual?

How pregnant were you?

I can't take care of what I can't see anymore!:upsidedow

(I'm not talking about a Brazilian or anything - just a simple, basic one!)

I've been pregnant, and have had bikini waxes when not pregnant, and I can't imagine why they would turn you down, or that it would hurt more. I wish they had offered the service in the maternity ward, post epidural! :thumbsup2

I have not had one while pregnant, but have had 2 and I just cannot tolerate them. Anyway, I think it is pretty common to get them while pregnant. There are 2 girls I work with that are pregnant and getting it done right before delivery. Something about not being able to see down there so good right now...

I want to know the same thing about but about waxing legs.. could I get it done??

Well, I can't think of a single reason why a pregnant woman couldn't get waxed, unless she needed a bottle of wine ahead of time to help with the pain! :rotfl2:

You know how we crazy pregnant women get - I'm sitting here thinking no salon is going to want to go mano a mano with a bikini line topped by a beach ball!

I wanted to know if anyone has actually done this before I go in and try!

I did it in my 10th (well I guess it's really the 9th) month. Everything was fine, yeah it hurt, more than normal? I can't say, only had that done once before (9 years before :rotfl: ). I went to my normal hair salon (pretty upscale place). I was actually surpised that the woman asked me to remove my panties to do it. Hell, I figured enough people would be seeing me in just a few weeks, so why not:lmao:

amazing how modesty goes out the window when your that pregnant huh?

My Ob/Gyn office actually has a "Body Essentials Medical Spa" which is a wholly owned subsidiary of the practice - it is right there with the doctors' offices. They offer lots of services, including waxing. I plan to check into it when I go next month and see what the doctor says. I am 21 weeks prego now, and can barely see down there anymore!!! My doctor would probably be GLAD if I got a wax - LOL!!!

Not when I was pregnant, but went and had a brazilian when I was OTR and *holy hell* it hurt 10 times worse. Not sure if it was hormones or what, but it was not good times for vettechick.

I would think that because there is more blood down there you'd be more sensitive, so I'd proceed with caution. But at least you are just doing a part and not the whole thing. ;)

I am pretty sure she is referring to "on the rag" - a term we used in middle/high school. Does anyone say that anymore? LOL I haven't heard that in 20 years!!!

it is supposed to hurt a lot more because of the increased blood flood to the area.

Can your DH help you out with the shaving? ;)

:rotfl: I haven't either, I just wanted to use an abbreviation everyone knew without having to explicitely say what I meant. :rotfl:

I had a bikini wax about a month and a half ago (right before Disney) and I was 9 weeks. I am due for another soon.

If you are uncomfortable why not use a mirror and do it yourself? that is what I did...when I went for my c section the lady said..'well, we will need to shave you some..." then she looked and said...'well, looks like it is all taken care of--good job"...
