Years ago I had acrylics but got smart and took them off...too much money.

I have never had beautiful nails but they seemed to get better last year. I started using The Gift Horse from Philosophy and it worked great. It was a nail strengthener. Well, my luck, they discontinued it. My nails are a mess now. I take vitamins too. Any ideas of great products that work really well on your nails?

I would like to know too. My nail are weak, brittle and they split.

I tried acrylics but when I took them off my nail were even worse.

Try ebay you might find it. Jessica nail products are made for Natural nails. I would look on www.makeupalley.com they have reviews for all knid of prouducts.

I had extremely weak nails that never grew long so I decided to put on acrylics. I took them off after having acrylics for 3 years and ever since then my nails are beautiful. They are not weak, I used a product called Tech II that I buy at Ulta for awhile but my nails started to yellow and I switched to Sally Hansens nail strengthener polish. I do work hard on my nails though, about once a week I do my nails and it takes about 2 hours. That includes filing, sculpting, and painting!!!!!

My biggest problem is that my nails will start to grow and then split horizontally where the white part of the tip meets the pink of the nail bed and then it tears all across my nail. Can you say Ow? How do I stop that?

Nail Envy from OPI works well if you use it like the directions say.

Gelatin tablets are supposed to make nails stronger. Or if you'd like, just eat jello. :thumbsup2

My nails have done beautifuly since I started taking my birth control pill with iron (Microgestin FE), and keeping my nails fairly short. They also look much longer since I have been religious about pushing my cuticles back.

Don't shoot me :duck: , but my nails have always been strong and long. My secret is I never use anything on them...I've had nail polish on them I think 3 times in the past 5 years (all for special occasions). Each time, after removing it, all my nails broke. So I just keep them clean and filed, and no problems.

:furious: I hate people like you :snooty:

J/K... ;)

Keeping them finger tip length is the single best way of keeping them healthy.

OPI Nail Envy works great for me. My nails used to peel really easily. I've been using Nail Envy for over a year and they are always long and strong now.

Another vote for Nail Envy. And keep colored polish on them too. It increases the chance that you will see then out of the corner of your eye and not bang then into something so hard that they break.

You can get at Trade Secret, Nail Salons, any place that sells OPI polish should have it.
