Ladies, how often do you take off your wedding/engagement ring(s)?

Whenever I go out I put them on. I also will wear my pretty yellow diamond at times just to admire it when I have some downtime.

Otherwise I never wear them. Wearing rings particularly with stones 24/7 is a sure way of doing more damage. So I protect mine with both extra insurance (not homeowners) and a few pretty jewelry boxes so they are safe when I am doing real work :)

My rings were on everyday and everynight until I woke up and my finger was swollen and purple. I had to go to and have it cut off. I was like a rotary style tool and a piece of plastic to prevent my finger from being cut. They had to slice the band in 3rds to get it off. The jewerly store wouldn't let me get my finger sized for 2 or 3 months to make sure my finger was normal. So, when I get home from work they are off on my watch band so I don't lose them. Well, that didn't work too well because I had my keys in my pocket with my watch and rings. (was running late to church) so I was going to put them on in the car and I ran over the watch and wedding set. So now I don't have a set to wear. Someday my husband I hope will replace them.
Besides a ring does't make you married.

I rarely wear jewelry, but my rings are always on. Feels weird without them.

Then again, they're just very basic rings, nothing pricey or huge. Maybe that would make a difference on whether I removed them more. But if I had huge or pricey rings, it wouldn't be my style, and I probably wouldn't want to wear them anyway! :rotfl:

I only ever take mine off when I am cooking and need to mix something with my hands and when they get inspected every 6 months, other then that they are always on.

I take my engagement ring off to do dishes, swim, etc. (stuff that might not be good for the emerald) and also when doing something really goopy (kneading dough or something) that would get stuck in the setting.

I almost never take my wedding ring off - and if I have to, DH puts it back on very ceremoniously. I do the same with his.

I had to stop wearing my ring (all rings, actually) last month due to hand swelling as a result of high temps and being pregnant.

I've gone thru 3 different wedding bands (granted they were all cheap $20 a piece). I have really skinny fingers and they never fit me. My current band my hubby purchased when he was deployed in Iraq for $60 bucks. I've had it for over 6 yrs. I take it off when I work out and when I clean. Otherwise, I keep it on cause it's so unique- just like me and my hubby.:cutie:

I took my Anniversary Band and Wedding Ring off last week because it was hot out and my fingers were swelling. It took soap and cold water to get them off. I still have not put them on, because I have been breaking out in hives, and I want to wait a bit. I will put them back on before we go on vacation next week.

I noticed yesterday DH took his ring off too. His fingers were swelling, so he stuck it on the nightstand. I took it and put it in my jewelry box. As far as I know, it is still there. He will put his on before we leave on vacation too.

I also take mine off when working with bread dough, or working with raw meat (meatballs, etc.).

I am normally a 24/7 ring on person other than that, but this last week has been a bit different.

I normally only take my rings off for messy things (cleaning, putting lotion on, working with raw meat, etc.) but they are currently on a necklace because they don't fit thanks to the hot/humid weather and being 37 weeks pregnant. I feel naked without them and can't wait until they fit again.

I never took my wedding band off - ever - until 2 years after my DH passed away.. Now it's on my right hand..

I only take them (I wear both my engagement ring and wedding band) off if I know I'm going to get significantly wet.

I normally just wear my band, and wear the engagement when we are going out for dinner, movies etc.

The only time I ever take either of them off is when I am mixing food with my hands or putting lotion on my hands.
