We have a 2 day trip planned for April 2nd-3rd. I just had to schedule a LEEP for 11am on March 30th, so roughly 2 1/2 days beforehand.

I've never had this procedure done, so have no idea what to expect. I just had a colposcopy last week and would have been fine for disney 2 days later, but I understand the recovery for this is more lengthy.

The DR has told me the area being removed is "very small", and i've been given the impression that will make for an at least slightly easier recovery.

We're AP, so this is by no means a commando trip. We're mostly going for Flower & Garden. However, we do have a few ride FP such as ToT and BTMRR.

Would you go ahead and go? We technically can reschedule (haven't even booked a hotel yet), but i'd prefer not to if i don't HAVE to.

I would definitely check with your doctor regarding recovery time and when to return to normal activities. I would imagine there may be some cramping after the procedure, and walking long distances may be uncomfortable, but if it's a low key trip you may not have any issues. Honestly though, your doctor is the best person to ask. Good luck and best wishes for speedy recovery!

If I recall correctly, I didn't experience significant pain after mine. However I wasn't riding roller coasters either. Check with your MD on any restrictions they advise and pay attention to how you feel and don't push the envelope. Good luck and a speedy recovery.

I had this done almost 20 years ago while I was in college. I was in and out of the hospital in the same day but you are under anesthesia and I remember being very out of it that whole day and when I went home I just slept in bed I was so out of it. I took a couple days off from school. I don't remember any pain. But I also wasn't walking around. I was just staying in bed and watching tv. I would ask your doctor. Disney is so much walking and that might interfere with recovery. You might feel tired and might not want to do anything. Better ask your doctor to be safe. Wishing you luck and recovery! :)

I had this done a couple of years ago and recall minimal recovery but I wasn't going to Disney either. Check with your doctor to be sure. 17 days until our Disney trip!

I had one done 17 years ago and wasn't under a general anesthesia. It was done in my doctor's office with a local anesthetic.

I don't remember significant pain after the first day. The day it was done I had a lot of cramping and some pain. I went home and laid in bed all day. After that, I was fine. But as others have said, I wasn't walking around Disney World. I was just sitting at my desk at work. Definitely ask your doctor what you should expect in the way of recovery.

Is there anyway you could reschedule the LEEP for a day or two after your trip?

I had one done when I was 20 and I went back to work (retail, standing/walking 8-10 hours a day) the following day, with mild cramps that I took Advil for. I had IV sedation for the procedure but not general anesthesia.

I had one done in 2008. I didn't experience alot of pain, but did have some burning that first evening. I went back to work the next day. I think you will be fine. There was a little cramping and light spotting but nothing that would have stopped me from doing normal daily activities. I would just double check with your doctor, but in all honesty you will probably be fine. Good luck!

I think you will want to be low key for those days between the leep and your trip. Also make sure you talk to your doctor about what supplies you will need and make sure you have them and maybe a small park bag to carry them incase you need something for all of the walking!

I had to have one done close to our trip last June. The procedure itself wasn't that bad, but the IBS type inflammation it caused for me after was. My doc is a Disney fan herself. She cleared me to go, and gave me an RX she thought would help. And it definitely did. While my walk was slowed down, I rode all rides as I normally would without difficulty. Two MAJOR things besides the RX that tremendously helped...#1 my shoes. After research, I bought a pair of Sketchers Go Walks lined with the yoga mat material. They helped soften impact when walking so very much, that I even wore them around the house everyday before we left. #2 my outfits of choice. I went with a combination of yoga type shorts that were soft around my middle and loose (but still cute) shirts. I also went with some loose (again still cute) short sundresses with soft running type shorts underneath. Everything being loose and soft around my middle helped a lot! Hope this helps.:-)
