Women, what do you think? And, men, do you prefer a long hairstyle on your significant other?

Just wondering about this. If you look at most magazines or beauty pageants or Baywatch or whatever, it seems like the majority of the "babes" have long flowy hair. Does this mean that most men find women with long hair more attractive? I always have my hair cut pretty short, and my ever-loving DH has always told me things like, "I love your hair however you have it cut, sweetie" but I wonder if really in his fantasies I would have lovely long locks. DH is deployed overseas now and I'm wondering if it's be worth it for me to grow my hair out long as a surprise for him when he returns.

Just a silly question but the thread about getting a good haircut really made me think about this!

My ex always loved my hair long and DD hair long. We now keep both our hair fairly short. He hates DD hair short, but what's he going to do about it. It's hard to maintance anyways to keep it long.

My husband used to tell me before that he liked me having long hair so when I said that I was going to cut it he told me no, but now he says that it's up to me. Maybe just cause I haven't cut it during the times I said I was going to.

What happens at 40?

not 40 but 40ish, its differnt with all women. You become more sexy with short hair

My boyfriend like my hair the length it is...about shoulder length.

He also loves for me to wear my hair down which I rarely do.

The heck with what he wants, I have to live with it. I prefer long hair. I wash it and go...let it dry by itself. I can't be bothered blow drying it every morning when it's shorter. And who has time? It's easy. And I haven't had any complaints yet. ;)

I have very short hair, and DH likes it. But also, when I let it grow out, I hate it and am miserable. That could have something to do with why he likes it short ;).

My DH definitely prefers longer hair.

My hair is as long as it's ever been. I wouldn't say that my DFiance likes it long so much as he likes it down. He wouldn't care if it was half way down my back, like now, or at my shoulders, he just likes it when I wear it down. Since I hate it in my face I try to compromise and wear it half up but he hates that more. I think flat long hair drags my face down.....

I'm currently growing my hair for donation to Locks of Love. It's scheduled to be cut just before our Disney trip in June and my DH and DD will be there with me taking pictures. After having made the decision to donate my hair, I'll have to say I've taken much better care of it than I did before I started thinking of it as someone else's. It looks better than it ever has...thanks to all the conditioning treatments my hairdresser has helped me with. Someone is going to get some great looking hair! ::yes::

And my DH says he has no preference...

I don't care what my husband thinks of my hair - I loove it! (think Crystal Gail!:D ) BTW - he loves it to- so that is a plus!;)

Mine does.

He didn't speak to me for a week when I took about 10 inches off of it last year. In protest, he shaved his head--in January.

He has since realized that me having hair like when I was 19 is impractical...I have too much going on to spend an hour on my hair to make it look good! Now, it's just above shoulder length and is wash and wear. I love it, and he finally admits that it does look better.

My hair has been pretty long for the past few years and my boyfriend loves it that way. He always told me not to get it cut. But last month I decided I needed a change and got a lot cut off, to about shoulder length. I didn't tell my boyfriend ahead of time because I knew he would try to stop me. But when he saw it he said he liked it! Then after awhile all he would talk about was how much he loved my haircut!

My DH likes long hair probably only because I've had long hair forever and he is just used to it. About 2 weeks ago I decided I needed a change and was looking at hairstyle magazines for a new do. Every style I picked out was "too short" to him. I was going for chin length which he thought was way too short. I went and got it done anyways and he LOVES it. He just has never seen me with hair shorter than to the middle of my back, he wants me to keep it this length now.

yes. DBF prefers long hair. (i prefer it too on myself, because my face is wide, and i need the length to frame my face)

but over the past few years i've decided to start growing out my hair very long and chopping off 10" every few years for various causes (my aunt was diagnosed with cancer, will go through chemotherapy + will need a wig, my dad is balding... needs a wig eventually, and recently i found out about Locks of Love, a place to donate hair to children who have cancer and need wigs).

so DBF will just have to deal with short hair on me. i've just reached the right length lately, so this week or next, i'm chopping it all off. kind of scary... i've never had hair shorter than shoulder length. but ever since i realized i could do something good with my hair, i regret not starting this earlier in life.

My DH prefers my hair long. I do cut it short sometimes (well, a lot of the time), and he's fine with it, but he just likes it better when it's long.

Yes, my DH prefers long hair as I do.

I cut my hair short once many, many years ago and I will never cut it short again!! I am definitely a longer haired kinda girl! I prefer longer hair, at least on myself. That being said I think some women really look great with short cuts - but not me.
