Ladies? Do only men notice your weight loss?

At our 4th of July party this weekend I bought a new pair of shorts and a new t-shirt and they really showed off my weight loss. No one said anything to me. But about 5 men mentioned something to my DH. They mentioned that my chest also looked smaller.
Ladies does this happen to you, that only men notice?:D

I've had some women notice, but more men. Sometimes I'm afraid to ask if someone's lost weight. I'm afraid of implying that they need to lose weight. Men don't tenf to over-analyze before making a comment. That may be why they say it more. Just my theory.

Congralations on your weight loss being so noticeable!!!

I have the exact opposite situation. Most men don't say a word although they do glance and me, especially on a day like today when I am wearing a more form fitting skirt and stretchy top. But the women are the ones that compliment me the most. It always surprises me when a man says something. I know at work they are probably concerned with harassment and I'm sure in my personal life, no man wants to give me the mistaken impression that he is coming on to me.

Anyway, you keep up the great work and let's all soak up the compliments as we enjoy the fruits from all our hard work because nothing about losing weight is easy!

I'm in the same boat as ZerasPride...I get more comments from women. Besides BF, I think I've only had 1-2 men comment (perhaps they don't want to get into an uncomfortable situation, not so much with harrassment, but more the implication that if they say I lost weight, that must mean I was fat before, etc. kind of thing!).

It happens. Older women (I mean like in their 50's and up) notice, but women younger than that, I think they notice just don't say anything. I get more looks and smiles from men, while the women just kinda look. It is funny that you posted this, because I just finished telling this exact same thing to my husband. Men do notice and depending on how well they know you or your husband (boyfriend) they will mention it.

I work in a large office and I think the weight loss comments are divided equally between men & women. I actually had lost quite a few pounds before anyone said anything, but I think it was the result of not buying new clothes.
I've had an odd variation, only from older women (of which I am one!). Before complimenting me on weight loss, they asked me if my health is OK, as if I may be experiencing disease-based weight loss. This felt strange to me the first two times that it happened, but I just accept it as a different way of expressing surprise at my weight loss.

I also have more women comment than men. Even the lady at the deli asked if I had lost alot of weight!;)

I have also experienced the opposite in the "past" when I've lost weight....( as I have gained some back now )

I think sometimes men might think they are offending a women if they mention anything....i.e. like you needed to lose.
Samandmom....you did say that the men told your DH insead of you directly ?? Also maybe some men wouldn't want to get into trouble with the DH or DBf of the women....this does not mean that they don't notice...lol !

I think women compliment on the basis of they know how hard it is and have been there themselves maybe at one time or another !!

Just some thoughts.
