Ladies... Cut, Style and highlights...

OMG at your hair prices! For a foil highlights, cut, style I pay about $60 with tip. It's about $80 with tip for a full color, highlights, cut and style. When we move my SIL is doing my hair and that will only be for the cost of supplies so maybe $20 or so. YIKES for everyone else!

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but for those of us that don't normally get this type of work done, when you pay for a full head foil, does this mean that they do ALL of your hair or just sections throughout your head of hair? I've always wondered. Do you ask for a "full head foil" for highlights/lowlights?

Up until now, my stylist has used a cap. I don't like it because it doesn't come close enough to my roots. She does foiling, but I don't know what to expect.

A full head foil does not highlight every strand of hair. It means that it highlights sections of your hair throughout the whole head of hair. In between, you can get "cheaters" that just do the top, front, crown area (the back doesn't require as much highlight as the front).

I went there once to try and save money because the place i was going to for years was getting quite expensive...Well, i learned a valuable lesson - you get what you pay for...

i totally agree with this. i went to hair cuttery once....and i haven't been back!

What I get done is a full color which is she brushes on color on my roots and then all over my head so basically I have a bunch of goop all over my head. Then she will foil highlights all over, just small sections, not big clumps. I usually get a full color and highlights every other cut and do just my roots on the opposite cuts. I go about every 5 weeks because my hair grows really fast.
