HAIR ?
What's your secret to a Disney friendly hairdo ? What's your hairstyle/do? What are your secrets to looking good at Disney? It's hard to look good at Disney all day, between the heat, humidity and the occasional water drenching on the rides ! :) I wear a chin length, straight bob. I turn the ends under with lots of gel, give it a quick spray and it's good to go. What's your secret?

Pony Tails, pony tails and another pony tail. I try to put it as high up as possible to keep my neck cool, which actually gives an ordinary pony a little jazz. However, when I was there last January it really wasn't that humid; just perfect weather.

I have SERIOUS hair. It is very thick, curly, and to the middle of my back. In Aug, looking good was not an option! Remember Monica's afro in that Friends episode? You get the picture. I wore it twisted up, in a claw clip. I also wore a black elastic head hand.

Thankfully, because my hair is so thick, I keep it short. Short hair is great in the heat and humidity.

I actually took the time on my trip in September to style my hair every day. I just left it down. However, by the end of the days it was pulled back because it was either wet from rain or a water ride and it was a frizzy mess.

I have long, down-to-my-waist wavy hair. I blow dry it straight, but humidity attacks it. It is a pony tail for me that I can keep taking off and redoing. Can't use regular pony holders, not strong enough. I use sweat wrist bands, they work great to keep a tight pony in place. If I have the notion, I do a single French braid down the back. THAT thing ain't goin' nowhere!!

Reading this made me chuckle!!! We were there in August also - and I too have very thick long hair. On the day we went to Epcot I forgot my hair elastic and all day it was getting poofier and hotter - bleh. At one point I was holding it up, spritzing the back of my neck with h2o and a complete stranger said to me "I wish I had an extra hair clip, I'd fix your hair!" I looked at her and she had the exact hair as me - but nicely put up. My husband originally looked a little irritated that someone said that to me - but then I said "she's being nice... she's been there and is truly understanding where I am..." He felyt better and I kept thinking how funny it would be if someone had offered a clip and this nice lady had stopped to put my hair up for me!! :goodvibes :sunny:

My hair is long and curly. The only way I can wear a pony tail is strait at the top of my head (think Pebbles from the Flintstones) or loosely looped at the nape of my neck. Any other placement gives me a headache.

My major problem is at dinner. I wear a bucket hat all day as I have very fair skin that burns easily. When I take off the hat, I have flat, hat hair on the top and bushy, frizzy, flyaway hair on the bottom. Any ideas???

My hair will be down until either it gets windy or hot then it's straight into a ponytail... :cutie:

I have the exact same kind of hair I put it up in a high pony tail, and alot of times with a hat over i, and the pony tail out the back :thumbsup2

I've got thin, straight, baby fine hair. It just gets flatter with humidity. Basically what I did this past May was wear a bucket hat or a visor with my hair in a pony tail. I've got fair skin too so I have to wear a hat or end up looking like Rudolph (the red-nosed reindeer.) :rotfl: I'd rather have "hat hair" than look like Rudolph!

just my 2 cents.

I have very curly, VERY frizzy, just past the shoulder length hair. I have the same problem as one of the previous posts with ponytails... severe headaches! After several trips being miserable fighting the fuzz atop my head, I bought a Princess visor type hat. I pull it all the way down to my shoulders and load all that nappy hair atop the visor. Okay, so I won't win any awards for the best "do" in the parks... :rotfl2: ... but this keeps my neck a little cooler by lifting the hair off the nape of my neck (same with forehead) and I am not constantly fighting the frizz. Plus, since the hat reads "Princess" - no one should question my sense of style, right??? :rotfl2: What we women go through!!! *12 days until we drop in at the Pop!!!* Oh, that reminds me... where is my princess crown... oops, I mean visor??? Gotta pack that for sure!

I wear a small clip that pulls the front half of my haur back. Honestly once we all go on the water rides, sweat and run around all day we all look like hags.

I have veeeery thick shoulder length hair. When I'm at Disney it's ponytails every day. I don't put my hair in a ponytail until mid morning as it sometimes gives me a headache but it's either a ponytail or hair clip or there is absolutely not control.

Ponytail for me too. I would wash my hair and then pull it into a ponytail so it would dry during the day. I left it down one night to go out for dinner and I looked terrible! So, back up to the ponytail. My hair doesn't stand up to heat and humidity at all.

Well last December I left it down the whole time and it was fine. Well, I think I wore it in pig-tails one day because I didn't feel like straightening it. I have thick hair that gets frizzy in the humidity and it was half-way down my back at that time. This year my hair is MUCH shorter (chin-length) and I have BANGS now so I don't know how that's going to work. They are too short to pull back with a headband, but maybe they'll be a bit longer by the time we go this December. I'm just going to look weird with my bangs all windblown and not fixed, but I mean I really don't care. Maybe I'll carry something to fix them before we go eat.
Also, I can't really put my hair in a ponytail right now, so I'll just have to deal with whatever it looks like.

This trip I bought 6 baseball caps for daytime! lol...Yes I am determined not to let HAIR bother me...Last trip in February it got rather icky by mid day so I won't let it happen again...will also shield the sun from my face...:)

But by night it'll be in a pony, brushed back and some hairspray (since I plan to shower twice a day, once being my mid-day break)

I have very thick down to my back long hair. So typically it is in a pony tail. If I have time I will wash it and wear it down for dinner. But I read a lot of people have problems with their pony tails saying up. Have you tired Stay Put by Goody? They are "high performance hair bands" They are hair bands in 3 sizes that have plastic woven into the cloth. I exercise in these things and they do not move! I swear by them. I get 10 for 3.49 at Meijer (or Wal-Mart). And add bonus they do not break my hair! Which is a problem with most plastic bands. I think it has something to do with it being woven into the cloth. I hope this helps!

My hair is really a Disney don't. It HAS to be done in the mornings. HAS to. For one thing, it's purplish-red. The sun and the water tend to strip the color.

And the style? Well...if you know who Robert Smith (of The Cure) is, you know what my hair looks like. This hairstyle is NOT Splash Mountain friendly. The last time I went to Disney and went on the ride, I got soaked. Water + 3/4 of a can of hairspray = I can't get a comb through my hair.
