Ladies, can we talk deodorant + formalwear

I've bought the clear stuff; quite honestly I think it sucks. So I buy the "invisible" white solid. My formalwear still ended up with white stains last year.

Is there a GREAT clear brand out there you swear by? The problem I have with the clear is it seems sticky when it goes on and never seems to dry.

Does anyone have a GREAT white "invisible" solid?

I used to use Ban and Arrid clear - they weren't sticky. But that was a couple years ago and they may have changed their formulations since then. Now using Dove invisible solid but haven't noticed if there was residue - don't wear very many dark clothes.

Secret Platinum Protection Clear Gel. And the biggest "secret" is to click it up once, dab half under one arm, and half under the other arm, then go back and rub each in without clicking up again. Dries right away, and gives great protection. You were probably using too much before.

Secret's Invisible Solid is also good. What I've done is used a tissue to wipe away any residue before getting dressed.

Why do I feel funny now, talking about deodorant?? I shouldn't....I've spent half a thread on fingernail polish!

I have discovered Mitchum Cool Dry for women.

It is shower fresh, hydro solid anti-perspirant and deodorant.

Works great, hate the sticky feeling also Haven't had any problems with this one at all.

And definately no marks on my clothing...not even the ones you get when you pull a shirt over your head..lol. Nothing at all on my black evening gown either. I thought that was very impressive.

I second the Mitchum. All of their formulations work even if applied the night before.

The only kind of deodorant I've found that does not leave any residue is a clear crystal. To use it you wet your underarms and rub the crystal (which looks like a clear rock) on. The water on your underarms dissolves some of the crystal so it stays there, on your underarms. It leaves absolutely no residue.

Other brands I've tried include: Secret and Dove invisible solid - both leave residue; and Almay clear gel - sticky and never dries.

I am making notes for the packing list for my next cruise....not exactly sure when that will be, but I've got the formal wear, I've got the bathing suits...I AM READY!!!!!!!!!!

Annabelle started preschool this year...she is pretty upset that they aren't getting any homework. (I have no idea whose child she is!)

Have a great cruise!!! I like both the Eastern and Western routes. The Western for the Caymans and Cozumel. But I really like the Eastern because you get more days at sea!

I also use clear crystal but in the spray. Best out there, I think!

Clear crystal ball for me too!!!!
I don't use anything else, this is natural deodorant and they carry it at Henry's or Trader Joes....

I encourage you to try it.... You love it!!!

I have tried alot of the invisible white solids but I think the trick is not to use to much and apply an hour or so before dressing and it shouldn't leave a residue. All of my formal dresses are black so I have had many issues with this. Good luck and have fun!
