I started seeing these quilted handbags a few months back, but never gave it any thought.

Now it seems that every other woman around here has one, they've really become popular here in my part of Virginia.

Here's an example:

I don't see them around everywhere, but among the quilter ladies or the embroidery guild they're popular. And I want one, but the pre-made ones are so expensive (well, not too bad compared to a good quality leather, but more than I want to spend) and I haven't had time to *make* one with the 2-dozen patterns I have.

Yeah, I've been seeing them. Also been seeing lots of big CZ stud earrings.

I haven't seen them in this neck of the woods.

I haven't seem them alot here, but I did see several at Disney last month.

Vera Bradley, that's them! I tried to right click on a photo of one of them from the Vera Bradley website, but it wouldn't let me!

Yes a few of the ladies at work have had (various styles of them) for years now! I've noticed how popular they have become. I don't buy expensive bags though, I'm too rough on them.

But here in Northern MA ,yes they are everywhere.

They are hot where I live. I've seen a lot of college girls with these Vera Bradley bags. People my age use them for diaper bags. If you have to carry one it might as well be fashionable. Merle Norman Cosmetics has a large selection.

I sent one to my niece in Phoenix for Christmas. She said she loves it.

My MIL and SIL have been carrying these kinds of purses for a few years. They got me one, but I don't use it as a purse. Not my style .

Vera Bradley has been very in around here for the past 3yrs. It's starting to phase out a little though

I don't think I've seen any around here, but I'm not a purse connoisseur so they might be around and I haven't noticed.

Vera Bradley is definitely the "in" bag in the Boston area! I have 3! I have had 2 for a few years, a summer pattern (yellow) and a winter pattern (navy blue). My son and my mother just gave me the backpack in the new Green Apple print for Valentine's Day, I love it. All ages of women are carrying them. They release new patterns twice a year. The website it www.verabradley.com You can also go to www.pecksonline.com and they sell them at a slight discount.

I see them pretty often.

I've never noticed them, but like browneyes, I'm not a purse conniseur. I generally stick my wallet either in my back pocket or in my briefcase.

These look exactly like purses we made in Home Ec. in the 8th grade (which would've been....1983). I really don't like them at all, probably for that reason.

I think it is good for a diaper bag, but as a purse I think they look kinda cheesy.

I was really into these a couple of years ago and bought a lot of pieces but I never did see them a lot here. I recently sold my whole collection on Ebay and did really well on them and I don't know if it's a coincidence or not but all the winners were from southern states. Maybe it's a lot bigger there than here. :)

Been big around here for a couple of years. See them all the time. Own 3 myself.

I carry a Vera Bradley wallet as a handbag. I like them because when I need a new one, I just get it and I don't have to re-arrange my wallet!! Same set-up every time.

We sell them in our brick and mortar stores and they are right up there every month with Yankee Candles in sales. We see no sign of their fading away. Hallmark, always a day late and a dollar short, has come out with a crappy knock-off line, too.

Another Vera Bradley fan here! I have 2 and I love them. They are just the right size, washable, and don't even get me started about the pockets inside! I am in RI and I see a good number of them around.

And I agree with DISshopkeeper about the cheap knock-offs--they really don't compare IMO.

Yes, I have seen them around, esp at the dept store.

I think it's funny because I swear to you know who that my mom and gramma made these same style of purses, wallets and make up bags in the early 80's! What goes around comes around!i
