How do you scrunch your hair? What is the process? Is there a great product to use for this?

How curly is your hair? Is it frizzy?

My hair is extremely curly and can get frizzy if I don't use the right product.

If I'm using a gel, I use something pretty light like a Nexxus gel. Aussie makes a good scrunch gel too. Most of the time, though I don't use gel; I just use a product called Zero Frizz, which is a hair serum similar to Frizz Ease, only cheaper and I like it a whole lot better.

I used to use a diffuser on my hair dryer, but I really don't bother with it anymore. I put the dryer on low, scrunch my hair as I blow it just for a minute or two -- not enough for the hair to actually get dry. I leave it damp so the curls will stay well formed. If I really need for my hair to be dry, I'd go ahead and use a diffuser, but I haven't done that in ages. There's really nothing to it.

Well, my hair is straight and not thick. There are times when my hair will kind of wave here and there but generally straight. Short Bob type cut.
Co-worker has long straight pretty hair, but once in awhile she will scrunch it up and it is a totally different look and I love it. It is a beautiful look on her.

You saying this Zero Frizz product will actually scrunch my hair? huh? :confused3
Keep scrunching away with dryer on low for couple minutes? I will try it tomorrow.

My hair is very curly (think Little Orphan Annie), but I usually straighten it. When I wear it curly, I use Bed Head After Party. It comes in a bright pink bottle. I'm not sure if it would work on your hair though, since you mentioned your hair is straight. I think, in your case, I would use a gel. Or maybe some mousse. Try a diffuser attachment on your hairdryer too. That will work wonders.

Hmmm, I think I would buy a high quality "curly" gel or lotion type product, something like "be curly" to help your hair become curly.

There are a lot of products out there, make sure you don't buy one for naturally curly hair. You want one to put curl in your hair, not to control it like frizz ease, etc.

We have curly hair around here, so I can't help you with a specific product to make straight hair curly!

You might try Loreal Pumping Curls-it's a spray- works good on mine, but then my hair's got a bit of a curl to it already. Use a diffuser on the blowdryer, and don't dry it all the way. An anti-frizz product is good too, try the Fruictus(sp?). Frizz ease was a bit to heavy on my hair.

The only product that works for me is Biolage "Gelee" and it works very well!!!

I haven't scrunched in a long time (over 10 years), but I loved Redmond's Aussie Sprunch Spray to make the curls look good. Then I smelled like grape lollipops the rest of the day!

I'd bend over, take a fist full of hair and scrunch it all back to the scalp. Blow it dry while still in the fist. Even once the body wave all grew out, it worked well to get some wave.

Well, with your hair type, I wouldn't bother with the Zero Frizz unless your hair gets frizzy. I get away with using only it because my hair is naturally curly.

Try the Aussie product for a scrunch gel. I love the smell of that stuff too. :goodvibes

I use Pantene scrunching spray, gel, mouse, and hairspray. It works great! My hair is frizzy, but that curls it right up

I have more questions............
I bought Aussie Scrunch Spray.......I bought a diffuser ..........
Now, do I use the diffuser on towel dry hair? roll it around?....when does the spray and scrunching take place? before , after? See my tag.......too many questions ! :goodvibes :goodvibes
Thank you so much................

Well, here's what I do. After washing my hair, I wrap a towel around it and just do my thing for about a half hour or so. If I were in a hurry, I'd towel dry it just a little bit so my hair is still damp. After that, I apply the gel or spray to my hair, then with one hand hold the diffuser a few inches from my head and with the other hand, grab sections of hair in a scrunching motion (squeezing the hair upwards kind of). Just do that until it's as dry and curly as you want. It could be helpful for you to go to a stylist and have them do your hair the way you want it and emulate what they've done. They're usually good about showing you how to maintain a look.

Also, does your diffuser have spikey things on the end? I've had stylists just use the spikey diffuser to scrunch the hair as well.

After all this, you're going to have to post a picture of your hair when you're done!

I have very fine, fairly straight hair (it has a wee bit of natural wave). I ocassionally scrunch it by putting extra-hold gel through out my hair, and then just scrunching bits of hair in my hand and blow drying on low. Once it is dry, I use a pick to fix parts that may be sticking out funny, and then I spray with my regular hairspray.

I use this with my DD's hair too. I also just got a product from Best Cuts. It is called or by Cat Walk. It is in a teal blue pump. It works wonders with her hair.
