Lack of Education! A Trip Report...

Pete you adorable little thing! I just stumbled across your TR through Glenda's. I absolutely love it  !! But I am wanting to hear some more so give us the goods.
P.S. I love young people who LOVE Disney. I'm 20 and I live in Maryland (Glenda and I are neighbors practically :rotfl: ) and all my friends think I'm crazy.

Thanks for reading......and the adorable comment, lol.

Where you going?
Disney World.
Again?

I can't tell you how many times I hear that! Oh well, I'm happy.

Hi Klofan

Very entertaining TR so far! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your TR and seeing some more great pics! :)

Day 3 - AK - Part 1

Yes! I love the AK, its in my top 4 favorite DW parks! I'm always upset because I don't think the AK gets enough credit for what it is. Yes, MK has more rides, but it also has been open since '71 and had time to make it perfect (which it is, haha). I think AK has the potential to become just as a good as the rest. Anyway, I really wanted to be here at park opening - but Kristen and Juan are very lazy and can never wake up. But we get there around 9:35.

This is my favorite tree in WDW!

YAY! Were in.

I have a gazzllion pics of the Tree of Life - but heres one. Juan thought it was real. But he also though the capital of NJ was Philadelphia, so I knew he was a genius before the trip.

phpO3Ips5AM.jpg

Anyway, off to Dinoland! We started off at Primeval Whirl because we didn't eat yet :rotfl: . The whole time we kept scaring Juan about Dinosaur (my favorite ride at AK). He was shaking like a leaf/little girl. Well he rode it....with his eyes closed. Oh my! The ride is so detailed and interesting and I was mad he missed out on it. Oh well - maybe when we come here later in the trip we can make him do it again.

And heres the car we drove to Florida with.

I've never done the Nemo show before and I really wanted to do it because on my last trip my friend didn't want to do it. It was awesome. I couldn't believe how great it was actually. I would of loved to see this as a kid because it was filled with tons of colors, large puppets, and great music. Juan was in one his moods during this show but when we asked him if he liked it, he nodded, haha.

Continued in next post...

Thanks for reading!

Pete,

So you are staying at the GF in September??? You will love the Customer service there!!! OMG!!! We are considering the CBR. And maybe the Poly in December. Where is the TR???? I am finally out of the hospital and I feel like  and would love to :surfweb: !!

Cas

Do you have any other trips planned for 2008 besides GF in Sept?

Day 3 - AK, Relaxing at Resort

Ok, so were on our way to EE. The wait time said 20 minutes but it was more like 5. For some odd reason, every time I go on the backwards part, I feel like I'm going upside down. Oh well - I love it anyway! Juan closed his eyes the entire ride AGAIN. He should of just stayed in the room and rocked himself on the computer desk chair. Even though this ride is awesome, Dinosaur is still my favorite ride at AK.

I needed to go to Rafiki's Planet Watch because I love it! So we took the sideways train to RPW and walked a mile (to me it always seems very long) to the actually place. Heres some pics of the beginning of the building.

Monkey!

The first thing I always do is the Song of the Rainforest. To me its better than Sounds Dangerous at MGM.

phpWTLIlnPM.jpg

Ok, so there was some show going on about snakes. A CM was talking to a small audience of people and suddenly a moving trash can pops out of nowhere. It goes up to some lady who was watching the show and she turned to her side and screamed on the top of her lungs!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: It was the funniest moment of life. And the reason why its was so funny because now she has to admit to everyone that she got scared of a motorized trash can.

These were taken right after the trash can scare.

And no, Juan is not in the pics, he's taking them (sorry Gmax).

After we looked around a bit, we decided to leave and do It's Tough To Be a Bug. Yay! This 3-D show is awesome. And plus its at the roots of the Tree of Life (its fake Juan) and that is just darn right fun! We then walked on Kali River Rapids but we didn't get wet. Which is weird because its usually me who walks off soaked and everyone walks off dry.

We were here 'til about 4 but I cannot remember where we ate! I think...no thats not it...oh well, maybe it will come later. But after we left we were very tired and hot because thats just what AK does to you. So we relaxed back at the resort for the rest of the night. We looked around the gift shops, had food at the Tempo Grab & Go and just spent time in the room and on the balcony. Tomorrow was supposed to be our relaxing day at the resort, but we didn't expect to walk on everything. So tomorrow we decided to swim, rent boats, and go to DTD.

Continued in next post...

Rafiki!! I love him! And his blue bottom. That's my favorite part about him.

Sideways train rides are fun...except they always make my stomach feel sideways  . No bueno!

Can't wait for more, More, MORE dang it!

Hye, just found your TR. Cna't wait for the next installment!

Haha. And that train is rough too. I almost fall out of my seat every time it makes a slight turn.

Day 4 - Part 1 - Resort Relaxation at the CR

So, today was the day where we were just going to relax at the resort, maybe make an appearance at DTD. Around 11, we all, well Kristen and Juan, woke up very slowly. We knew we wanted to swim, but we also wanted to do something else that we have never done before. Since we had the Bay Lake view, we could see those "cool little boat things" that were speeding around everywhere. Yes! I wanted to do those.

Juan: I don't want to do them.
Me: Fine. Then when were out having fun, you can study our state's capitals (see AK day).
Juan: I'll just go to the arcade.
Me: Ok.

So, Kristen and I took the elevator down to the 1st floor. We walked out and found the desk to rent the "cool little boat things." The CM said it was 40something dollars for an hour. Not bad. He told us we had to sign waivers. They explained that it was tough luck if we got hurt or died! DEATH?!? :scared1: Since Kristin was driving, she had to sign an additional waiver.

OK, now that we signed our lives away, it was ready to role. But first he commented something about 2 adults...

CM: With two adults, that thing is gonna move slow.
(Im barely 120 pounds, so in other words Kristin is huge.)

...Anyway, after we grab our lifejackets, we're off! The Sea Racers (as they called them) were really fun. There were certain areas you couldn't go to and you couldn't drive near the islands - but you could go to the Seven Seas Lagoon!

Then it happened. We got pulled over by the boat police.

PULL OVER! PULL IT IN NEUTRAL! He was very rude and told us we couldn't drive near the island. We thanked him for wanting us to be safe, then he drove off and ignored us. Whatever. It was time to swim anyway.

So, after we survived that, we went swimming...in December! The pool was perfect temperature and so was the hot tub. But you can only swim so much - so we went back up to the room. Juan was MIA and we assumed he was in the arcade. After we got showers, we went down the arcade. He was there.

Juan: I can't believe it! Since we are resort guests, its free.
Me: What's free?
Juan: The arcade.
Me: No its not.
Juan: Uh huh. All you do is stick in your room key and they give you game points.
Me: Um..Juan those charges go right to my credit card.

(I told the CM checking us in I didn't want that feature, but the card still went through! Watch out parents!)

He did give me the money later for the arcade, but since he did this, we had one free day of making fun of him. So it was all worth it in the end I guess, haha. But I needed to get to DTD! I had major shopping to do for myself and for my family!

(I didn't get any pictures of the Sea Racer experience or the pool because I KNEW that if I brought my camera down there, that would be 500 dollars down the drain. :rotfl: )

Day 4 - Part 2 - DTD

We decided, instead of the bus, to take our car because I heard its a nightmare going to DTD from the monorail resorts. In a short ride, we were there.

I knew that I was going to buy most of my gifts at the WoD store. But at a realistic standpoint, I thought I was going to spend 75, maybe 80-85 dollars. Whew. I was wrong. I had a basket and I kept grabbing and grabbing. The universe just wouldn't let me stop.

WAIT! I saw a CM passing out 10 dollar off coupons if you spent 75 dollars or more. I took the last one she had. After an hour of competition...

Coming in 3rd place was Juan with 39.99.

The runner-up was Kristen. Coupon included, she spent 85 dollars.

I won! And I never win anything...so with the coupon, 148 dollars! The worst part is, a lot of these are gifts, so I feel like I just threw so much money down the drain. But wait! Maybe I could keep everything and feel like I spent the money on myself, but then I'd feel guilty cause I brought back nothing for anyone. Oh, the choices.

Kristen and I both had our stuff sent back to the hotel, and it was worth it cause my bag was huge and heavy. When we walked out, Juan took pictures of Kristin and I with the fake Cinderella and Aurora.

phpLR2zWMPM.jpg

But as the time went on we started to get hungry. So, we decided to try Planet Hollywood. I haven't been here since 1997 so I was really excited to eat here. We walked right in and were seated on the first floor. It was very cool in there I have to admit. But to me, it felt like someone just put the 1990's in a time capsule, then it somehow exploded in there. I started wondering where my Furby was. Anyway, we all agreed the food was very good and better then what we expected.

Legos! I love these things!

phpPjwn6dPM.jpg

php34HJQDPM.jpg

But after a lot of walking and looking around, we decided to go back to the CR. And since we drove, we just followed the signs back to the resort. Well, we saw an Olive Garden and a cheap T-shirt store. Ok - were not in Kansas anymore Toto. Eventually, we finally found our way back to the CR and I was happy again. :goodvibes

Oh man, if I were on one of those Sea Racer things (aka. water sprites), I would have taken the chance of being banned from them for the rest of my natural born life for a glimpse of River Country. You can see it when you take the boat from the MK to the WL so I bet you could drive your little water sprite over there. And then I would take one look at it an weap because I miss it like Mufassa misses Pride Rock and it's all in ruins.

Ok, rant over.

Juan and the arcade thing? HILARIOUS!! :lmao:

I always get a basket at WOD and fill it to the brim with things I don't need. And then I get home and say, why did I buy this? I'm never going to wear it again! Like my headband that has the Mickey antenna's on top. However I did wear it to work New Years Eve and got some strange looks.

Goes right along with the strange reactions we both get when we tell people we are going to DW again.

More please...

P.S. Where is Juan (or his family) from? He looks Hispanic. I am a Spanish major so I'm always curious as to where people are from.

We were a nervous wreck on those Sea Racers. You couldn't go in a lot of areas, and some areas you couldn't drive fast because you couldn't make waves, and it was really hot and frustrating.

Juan is from Puerto Rico. But don't try and steal him - he's Glendamax's man.

Day 4 - Part 3 - AK EMH

When we went back to the resort, we didn't even realize that AK was having EMHs. I have never been to AK at night, so I needed to do this. We arrived here around 8, so we had about an hour to do what we wanted.

The Tree of Life...at night!

php6W3lF4PM.jpg

I told Juan that we would be riding Dinosaur and that he would keep his eyes open. Well, he didn't. We did buy the picture though because it was just us and another guy on the car and Juan looked scared out of his mind! (I'll upload the picture later, Kristen has them)

We knew that we wanted to do EE one more time. This ride is a totally different experience at night like BTMR. Well, Juan kept his eyes closed on this one again because he didn't want to get eaten by the fake Yeti. Poor baby... :sad2: The picture was bought on this one too, but I'll upload it later.

But that was it - a quick night at AK. At least now I can say I went to AK's EMHs!

Tomorrow - Sleeping in again, then MGM again!

The reason why I'm doing this in a separate post is because I can't remember the exact nights that this happened. But I'm gonna try and remember the best I can!

Juan has a real problem with sleep talking and snoring. It absolutely terrified me some nights to the point where I couldn't go to sleep and that I needed to wake up Kristin because I was so freaked out. Between the sleep talking, every night he would snore so loudly, that I rarely slept. I'm not a light sleeper at all, but it was like hearing an airplane starting up :rotfl: .

Night 1 - Juan: "Never again. Never again will you do that!" (I conveniently woke up to use the bathroom, then when I went back to bed, thats when he said that! WELL, I just couldn't fall back asleep. I get really freaked out by these kinds of things. 30 minutes later, I fall back asleep.)

Night 3 - Juan: *He shot up really quick and said...* "What time is it? WHAT TIME IS IT?" (Like he cared? It was 5:30. He couldn't remember that conversation at all.)

Our Last Morning - Juan: *Kristen and I were up watching tv and there was a commercial for the Wii system and he loves video games, so he shot up VERY quickly and said...* "What game is that? WHAT GAME IS THAT?" *...then he shot right back down to sleep.*

And these aren't the only times he slept talked. These were just the ones that stood out. He would have full conversations with himself all night in between the snoring.

Well there ya! Hope everyone had a good laugh. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey :wave2: found you through Glenda :goodvibes

And sub'ing & great TR:upsidedow

Where you going?
Disney World.
Again?

I can't tell you how many times I hear that! Oh well, I'm happy.

Meee tooooo.....it even makes me laugh now

Tomorrow - Sleeping in again, then MGM again!

This sounds like my kind of schedule.....maybe I need to go with you next time!!!!

It room 4645, 10th floor, beds facing MK.

Dsc00626.jpg

Ok....I'm keeping this room #.....already showed it to my hubby and told him THIS is where I want to stay!!!

BEAUTIFUL!!! Just BEAUTIFUL!!!

I hope hubby is taking notes.....my b-day is also at the end of Nov....perfect present

Really looking forward to the rest of your TR.....we were there the same week.....come check out my TR of photos :goodvibes

Oh man, my dad snores so loud that I swear the people all the way at the end of the hall could hear him. I sleep with ear plugs in when we go to DW and I STILL hear him clear as day.

P.S. Glenda can have Juan. Hope she sleeps like a rock :rotfl: . I would rather steal you...and make you eat very many hamburgers ;) .

Your TR is HILARIOUS!! Does Juan have a good sense of humor? It seems like he's been the butt of all the jokes! :lmao:
