I worked the last 9 labor days (for double time, why not?). But I have a different job this year and the business is closed for the day, so no, I will not be working.
I'm not, but DH is. He's a paramedic and it's his regular day to work. He worked Memorial Day and the 4th of July also this year, and he is scheduled to work Christmas Day. Just the way the shifts fell this year, they work 24 hours on, 48 hours off.
DH is an IT Project Manager and he's had to work off and on all weekend doing migrations, whatever those are. I don't really understand much of what he does.
They're currently experiencing problems with some of the migrations, so he's now been working for 18 hours straight. At this rate I think he will be working into Labor Day as well!
My husband will be golfing at the country club but I'm heading into the office. Our company is closed but I need to review quarterly financials before presentation to the board this week. I hate 3 day weekends because I can't squeeze the work into 4 days.
I suppose to work tomorrow but we suppose get boat load rain and ask me not come in. So I will get labor day off this year. Now I got new job so I want be getting off holidays anymore.
I was supposed to work but last night someone asked me to work today for them and they will work tomorrow for me. We get time and a half but today was a longer shift so it pretty much worked out the same.
I am a SAHM so I never have a day off
DH works in NYC and since the hurricane the city has been under a state of emergency so for him he has had mandatory 12 hour shifts( he has been doing more than that though) everyday no matter what. So, he will be working tomorrow.
SAHM currently but when I worked we had a PTO bank..days like Labor Day we could choose to work and save a PTO day or take it off and use a PTO day. There were no "mandatory" holidays (called business driven holidays) so you could decide to work or not work. I always worked Labor Day.
I am a nurse and I will be working. I have only been an RN for a little over a year so low man on the totem pole, I work most holidays. I need to find a nice RN job that rotates the holidays so I can see my family again someday.
