Labor Day weekend crowds

We are going to WDW Sept. 3-10, so the beginning of our trip will be over Labor Day weekend. Will the crowds be large? Should we plan on hanging around the resort most of the weekend, or should we go ahead and do the parks?

The crowds will be a bit heavier at that weekend, I don't think you'll be mobbed though. This past year Frances was an issue so I don't know how accurately you can follow the pattern from this past year.

We fly down for Labor Day weekend 2001 (a week before 9/11). It was PACKED and HOT and HUMID. 120 min. waits for Splash and Big Thunder. It was so warm -- I kept filling my water bottle and drinking. I drank 128 oz. of water in the course of the day at the park and never stopped for a bathroom break. I just kept sweating. If you've been before and don't mind not seeing everything then go to the parks. Otherwise, you might want to hang around the hotel and swim on Sat. and Sun. By Mon. the crowds were thinning out and going home.

I'l always at WDW during Labor Day weekend and sure, it's crowded, but it's a lot of fun, the weather is great (okay so last year we had a few hurricanes....) but use the Fast Pass option, drink water, and use the pools and it's all good!

The benefit is that in 05 LAbor Day is really late....

hmmm, we've been in wdw for three labor day weekends ('99, '01, and '04) and crowds were nominal... 99 was probably the worst, imo... '01 most rides were 5-20 min at mk, and '04 the parks were closed sat/sun due to hurricane frances, and empty on fri and mon... we're contemplating same time this year... we like low crowds, even w/high heat...
