Labor Day Weekend Crowds

I'm heading down the Saturday before Labor Day and then staying through the week after. How bad are the crowds through Monday? I imagine they dwindle down beginning Tuesday, but never been at this time and want realistic expectations

Everything I've read says it's not as bad as you might think. Slightly above average crowds for the actual holiday weekend, then low crowds for the following week. It is definitely a week I considered for our trip! We've only done September so far, though, so we went for November for something different. I think you'll be very happy with your choice!

I am wondering the same thing. We are going on a 4 day trip arriving on Friday ( attending the MNSSHP) and leaving Tuesday. I read that crowds are not to bad so I am hoping we made a good choice.

We were there over Labor Day a couple of years ago. Smallest crowds I've ever seen at Disney to this day.

So glad to hear all these positive reviews. I figure it would be busy with locals at least during the actual weekend. Especially with Food & Wine so early this year.

I was wondering about the same thing. We arrive on Sunday the 3rd, leave on the 8th. F&W crowds have me nervous. Usually we go to Epcot on arrival day, but this year will probably hit the water park. It's weird how stressed it is making me by changing my "Disney" routine and not hitting Epcot first day.

We have gone end the week leading up to and over the Labour Day weekend for the last several years. The week prior, the crowds are quite small. They do pick up considerably for the weekend itself, but still very manageable. I've never stayed the week after the holiday Monday, but my understand is it's even lower crowds than the week prior.

It's been busy since 2013 some downtime in the dog days of summer, and late Jan. Other than that it's busy. Not Christmas Day Busy but busy. We go this weekend every year and since 2013 it appears no less or more busy than all the other times we go. And we are local.

Ooooh Gillian! I like your post, since we will be there the week prior to Labor Day :) We leave on the Saturday prior to Labor Day....I'm hoping for small crowds that week!!!!!

We've always been really lucky that week. On the Friday, we start to notice the increase and by Sunday we're thankful our entire stay wasn't as busy as that day. Enjoy, maybe we'll see you there!

Thanks Gillian!
Yes, from what I've heard, this is a good week to go...I'm hoping that's true this time around, ha.
You enjoy too, have a great time!!

We are going for four days starting with Friday and leaving Tuesday, so we will only be there for the weekend. It's what worked best for my family. My parents and mother in law are going also. We are not going to EPCOT because of the food and wine festival.

We've been there on Labor Day several times and it didn't even feel like a holiday - just another weekend day. And the days surrounding - other than food and wine - were fairly easy.
Oh, and we'll be there this time too - so hope to see some of you there :-)

We have been doing Labor Day Weekend since 2005, the first year (i think) they offered free dining. We would be able to stay on rides such as splash mountain and even space mountain. No need to get off because no one was waiting on line to get on the ride.

Even though it is a lot less crowded then other times of the year I tend to think it is crowded.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I am leaving on the Sunday. I should be fine then!!
