Does anyone know about how busy is usually is early September? Were going for the half marathon, labor day weekend, and im not sure what to expect. The past few years weve gone in january and december when it was empty (wierd o_O) but i've also been plenty of times in the summer, and also a couple years ago for during spring break.

Im sure nothing can beat the awful crowds of grad nite, or WDW magic kingdom at christmas, but how does it compare. This will be a big family trip with extended family and i want to be prepared for everyone. TIA:thumbsup2

I wish someone knew the answer to this. We're going to be there on the Saturday of Labor Day too.

Don't think I'm gonna stress too much about it though. When we went over Veteran's Day Weekend in 2007, I was expecting the worse, crowd-wise, but was pleasantly surprised that although there were a lot of people in the parks, they were spread out and we didn't have to stand in long lines the entire weekend except for food.

we were there last year from Sept 1st -7th and it was so nice. not crowded and we had a blast. Spotted some celebs... ususally they go during off season like that.. good luck and enjoy!

that sounds good! I knew it might be a little crowded because its the half marathon, so i was expecting it to be busy. Then my mom found out it was labor day weekend and was worried that it would be very crowded. Then she got me all freaked out.

I guess im spoiled now. Lately weve only gone in the winter when the park was almost barren. And during my CP at WDW i wouldnt wait more than 15 minutes for anything since i was always there. :rotfl:

So since most schools have just started at that point there wont be as many families visiting right?

Celtic Bell: Are you going to stay the week after Labor Day?

We're going the week before and will be leaving for home on Sept. 6th. I wanted to make sure I saw the original HM this time.

The week before Labor Day last year, the park's hours were cut. I also noticed that this year's "peak" summer season is over on Aug. 23rd. Dang it! I wanted to see the ELP but think I'm gonna miss it by one week. I haven't seen that in over a decade.

I was wondering about the crowds then too, we will be visiting for the first time from tuesday 1st and leaving monday 7th sep and will probably go into the parks on the thurs, fri & sunday and im kind of hoping for decent crowds, well at least not long ques like 45mins+

Well be there or friday saturday, and sunday.

Im not too worried about seeing parades, or anything in particular. Ive been many times, but this is the first time in a long time ill be going with my parents too.

I really hope you guys get to see everything you want to, and hopefully youll get to see the ELP. maybe theyll have it on sunday. I would assume since theyre drawing people in for the half marathon they wouldnt cut the entertainment for that weekend. Heres hoping.

I'll be flying in on Sept 5th (which is my birthday!) and staying thru the 10th for the Haunted Mansion special event. I was hoping it wouldn't be too crowded over the Labor Day weekend also. *Finger crossed!*

ooh whats the special event? I havent heard of it!

There's a special (ticketed) event on Sept. 9 (9-9-09) for the Haunted Mansion's 40th anniversary celebration. :hmghost:
