Labor Day help please!!

hi everyone,
I'm trying to help plan some things for a couple of friends who are clueless.
They want to go to IOA on Labor Day. They will not be arriving early, I think they would problably get there around noon time. I see they can get the express passes for most of the rides. Is their day mostly going to be a big waste of time? Any special little tips I can give them, about strategy, things not to miss, good food etc...?
I'm the Disney expert around here, so I guess I am a little clueless about IOA too! My first thought would be to stay away on Labor Day though, or at least get there early in the morning. Oh well.
Some planning tips would be greatly appreciated!

Are they staying over or just visiting for the day and what type of rides do they like? There are some great water rides they need to hit in IOA and of course, T-2 and MIB are not to be missed in US. As for a quick snack not to miss when you enter IOA go under the big port of entry sign and look to the left there is a funnel cake stand there next to cinnabon that is definetly worth your time. I will be hitting it soon myself! Can't wait. I would also say not to miss Jimmy Buffett's place it's a hoot and a lot of fun it's a wonder there's no charge for all that entertainment but it's free! The food is great the service is awesome and it's very resonabely priced.

My friends will be there for the day, into the night. They will be staying over at a hotel in Downtown Disney. I think I am most worried that the park will be very crowded on Labor Day and they won't get to do much. I think they would like all the thrill rides!
