Lab Tec, Anyone, can you HELP me???????

I am trying to import video from my panasonic Mini DV Video Recorder into a Mac program called Final Cut Pro, and I am doing something wrong, I can't figure it out. If anyone can help please please please let me know.

I'm not great with Final Cut Pro, although I have some experience with it ... what sort of problems are you seeing?

I am trying to log and capture video from my camera on to the computer. I have the camera hooked up to the computer through USB. I try to capture and I think it is saying that there isn't anything to capture. But I try anyway, wait and wait but nothing. UGH! Do you have any idea what I am doing wrong. (Of course there are no lab tecs here on Sat.)

Do remember how to capture??

You may have to tell the software where the camera is hooked up. I think it defaults to looking at the firewire port, I'm not sure how to tell it to look for the USB port. I'm sure it'd be buried in one of the menus somewhere, but I'm not a mac person, and not sure where to look.

Not only that now I get kicked out of the lab I was using! UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going to email my teacher, ask for an extension or something. I don't know what else to do.

I did try playing with the settings for where the camera is. One more idea to try and then I am out. Not one person I have talked to here today can help me. Ugh. The labs are open tomorrow too but if there isn't anyone here today they probably wont be tomorrow either.
