LA Traffic

I know that there was discussion on another thread but wanted to get some imput. Family is driving down to the mouseland on 3/20, won't be able to get out of San Jose due to hubby's work schedule until 2-3 pm at the earliest, what advise would give as far as quickest, easiest way to get to GCH? Thanks! (We wiill also have two very impatient children with us the whole way asking "are we there yet" and no we can't leave earlier have already begged hubby and no we are not heading into the parks that day)

I'm not sure what the quickest way to get on 1-5 from San Jose is. Either cut over from 101 somewhere or back track to 580 then 205 but I would suggest getting on 1-5 as quickly as possible. It's definitely the fastest albeit least scenic route.

I guess I should have been more specific, because we will be heading down and at some point hit LA traffic if we come down on I5, are there any suggestions about how to get around the horrible traffic?

You'll be getting there as traffic is easing up, I'd just stay on 5 if it was me.

Agreed, I'd probably just stay on I-5 the whole way down. You could veer off onto the 405 way north of LA, but that'd take you around the long way and would more than likely hit more traffic. Could try going the other way (think it's the 10) and head towards the east and go around that way, but same thing again, longer and possibly more traffic. Think the 5 is your best bet to just plow right through it. And that would most likely put you in LA around 7-8pm, which traffic shouldn't be TOO bad at that time. The 5 is your most direct path and will probably get you there the fastest. Have fun!!!
