We had our first meal of vacation on Thursday Dec 22 at 6PM at la Hacienda
The food was great but the service was terrible. We had an adr, got in right away abd placed our order but it took over 30 minutes to get the meal. then when finished with the entree took over 30 minutes to get dessert. When the bill came it was for a different table!!!. After the entree and many CM seeing us waiting at the table I requested a supervisor, and she was one of the people that had seen us sitting there waiting. She said she would see what the hold up was but it still took time to get dessert. As we left we told her in the twenty years of coming to Disney, this was by far the worse service ever. She smiled and said she was very sorry:rolleyes1. I think she could have done much more to get the dessert out to us and get us the check in a timely fashion. total time spent 1 and a half hours:headache:
But the rest of the trip is great so far, a little bumps here and there.
We are at the VWL and CM are GREAT!!

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at La Hacienda, Dismiss. My DW and I dined there Nov. 28 and had a wonderful evening. The staff was very cordial, the food (and Margaritas) were wonderful and our server, Fatima, was outstanding. We were also awed by our view of Illuminations, which made for a perfect ending.

Again, I'm sorry the ways things went for you there, but I just wanted to let you know that it isn't always that way.

We ate there last wednesday. The food was soso but our waiter, Jerry, was great. He had a great sense of humor. Enjoyed the evening inspite of the food.

While the check WAS slow to get to you, I would relax a bit on the food speed. If it got to you the way it was supposed to be served (hot if hot and cold if cold) then most likely the issue wasn't the server. There is only so much they can do if the kitchen is backed up or short people. Now, if this was the case, they should have come to you and explained that it was so... but it very well could have been out of their hands with the speed of the food coming out.

Sorry to hear that you found the service too slow for your taste. I personally would not find that particularly slow. We usually expect to spend 1.5 to 2 hours for a nice dinner at a TS restaurant.

If I am at a good restaurant and my entree arrives quickly, then I can be forgiven for believing that the meal has been pre-cooked and kept warm under lights. On the other hand, if it arrives looking hot and fresh, I would tend to believe that it was freshly prepared after I ordered it.. and that takes time.

And most decent restaurants (at least the ones where you go to dine, rather than to eat fast and get out) will give you the time between courses to digest your last course a little before the next one is brought out. Much better, IMO, than rushing you and plunking dessert down before you're even finished your entree (yes, we've had this happen to us).

In the future, if you want to eat in a hurry, you can always inform your server of this when you are first seated. They will usually do everything they can to accommodate you if they know this in advance. And you can ask for the bill to be brought when they serve the dessert.
