Hi Everyone

Has anyone ever used L & M for their car rentals at Orlando Airport?

They are by far the least expensive however I was just wondering if this is for a reason?

Are they right at the terminal?

Thanks

we used them in february after referral in unofficial guide... no problems, no lineup, right in terminal, married spouse can drive for free... absolutely no problem.

If you bring proof of insurance, you won't have to pay extra for insurance, or use gold card instead.

Have fun and you shouldn't have any problems. They are much cheaper always, since they are local to florida only.

I know some people have had problems with them, pushy sales people, dirty cars, but I've used them twice and had no problem. They were actually really great and helpful when we had to stay a day longer due to illness. We are going with National this year because they are a lot cheaper (using a code from Mousesavers) but I would not hesitate to use them again if they were the cheapest. If you have time I would check out using codes with the other companies because a lot of time it can actually be cheaper.

I've used L&M a couple of times without any problems at all.

What do I need to bring to show proof of auto insurance? Is there any certain type of gold card that I need? :hourglass We are arriving 9/23 so time is running out for me.
Thanx :wave2:

Actually, they are local to Puerto Rico and have been for 35 years. They just opened a location in Orlando in 1998.
They are also well know for bad service, bad cars and really rude counter people. I would do a search on this company before I would rent.
They are also affiliated with E_Z rent a car.

We have rented from them multiple times with absolutely no problems. We bring proof of insurance, but we have never needed it. They are not pushy with the insurance (unlike Alamo), and we've always gotten very nice cars (a couple of times they were brand new). I would recommend them.

We used them last February and were very pleased. It took less than 5 minutes to get the car. The Alamo counter had over 50 people in line at the same time so I was glad to have used L & M. No rudeness, car was clean, would definitely recommend them.

The only guarantee to hold your car for one hour even if your flight is delayed. The one hour is from their website, they used to even disclose a flight delay doesn't matter, they're now silent on the issue.

http://www.lmcarrental.net for the Orlando location.

Proof of insurance would be a copy of your policy.

Any credit card that offers rental insurance protection (by the way, this only covers UP to where your own insurance policy kicks in) should be acceptable.

While the websites are similar and I'm NOT doubting the person who said L & M is affiliated with E-Z Rental, I don't see how.

They will match any rate on the spot; if, for example, you have an excellent rate from Alamo but there are 83 people ahead of you in line, step to your left and show the clerks at L & M your reservation and voila!

The only drawbacks as far as I'm concerned are minor - you don't get to select your own car, one is assigned to you; and to complete the return processing you need to go back inside to the counter on arrival back at the airport.

Just for the record, we did not have to go back to the counter in the terminal when we returned our car this past February. There was someone in the parking garage who took care of our return.

I've rented from L&M many times (more than 8) over the years. I've never had a problem. I make a copy of the coverage page of my policy.
But it is not necessarily true that they will honor a competitors rate quote especially if you are using a coupon with the competitor. I've had them honor one from alamo one year, then another year they would not honor one. I was using the entertainment coupon and with the entertainment price you also get a free driver (not necessarily a spouse) that I needed. They would not honor the alamo rate. It was not a problem, I just went over to alamo, the line was only 15 minutes and I wasn't in a hurry.
I believe that L&M does let spouses drive free but you would have to check if you need that.
I'm not using them in November because they are not the cheapest for me, National is. And make sure you check out the price with taxes and fees. I noticed that L&M charges some really high fees, though many times even with that they are lower.

While you don't see how they are affiliated, all you need to do is read the website or pick a location other than Orlando.
This explains a lot, look at the contacts on the left side of the page.

Go here and select a location other than MCO.

Try it for Texas or any other location.

Hi,
I asked Alamo and L&M for quotations. L&M is reallly cheapest in rate :earboy2: s but the taxes are higher than Alamo. Take care.

They are higher than Alamo and Dollar for Feb, they were very low in 2002 ans 2003, maybe they will drop prices soon
