I have to give them props. While we were there this past week we ate dinner on Thursday night. It is DH's favorite place and continues to be (after 5 new places we tried).
The food was great, he had the skillet and I had the ribeye.
But the best part was our server "Lazy Suzan". She was awesome! Not only did she entertain us she was sincere when she needed to be and went above and beyond for us.
Infact this is the only restaurant that made a big deal over our honeymoon! She brought us champaigne and announced it, even wondered why we hadn't used "room service"....lol
We told the manager Kent I believe was his name and he was thrilled to hear we enjoyed our meal. He was a bit upset to hear that all the places we had been to hadn't done anything special for our celebration.

Then the unexpected happened. The day before we checked out (we stayed at POP) we had a delivery from POP, it seems someone made a phone call to say we hadn't been made to feel special on our honeymoon and POP decided to give us a few gifts!!!
I assume it was the manager from WCC, no one else really knew what was going on. So I wish to thank him for taking the time to acknowledge a special time for us.
I know that everyone is celebrating something, but when they ask they should follow thru with something.
Anyway......if you are going, choose WCC they are fabulous!!! :cloud9:

Wow, that's awesome that they went above and beyond to make your honeymoon special!
Reading your post only makes me more excited about our ADR at WCC for dinner during our upcoming trip in March. We've eaten there for breakfast, but never for dinner, and I am very much looking forward to it!!

I hope you have a good time.
I know many people here on the forums don't like WCC but honestly we haven't had a bad meal or bad service. It is our must do meal (the other being CP) every trip!

That's awesome that you had that kind of experience at WCC! We had a similar experience on our honeymoon, where it just wasn't noted by most places. But, for us Le Cellier went above and beyond and it will always be one of our faves because of that night. Yay for Disney magic!!!:lovestruc

Glad you had a good experience at Le Cellier. We ate there as well this trip and while the food was awesome the server didn't acknowledge our honeymoon except to ask if our ressie was under my married name or maiden name!! I couldn't believe that a nice place like that didn't offer anything special.
I will go back because the food was good but no acknowledgment of our honeymoon was crazy.

We LOVE "Lazy Suzan!" We ate at the WCC 2 years ago on Christmas Eve and she was our waitress. The interactions with her were always over the top. We loved her so much that the kiddos gave her a thank you card and got their picture taken with her. I'm so glad to hear that she's still there!

I'm so glad to hear you had such outstanding service! We are eating there for the first time in January. I had made a lot of Le Cellier type reservations. My hubby started looking at the menus of my choices and had to put in his request. "Could we please eat somewhere I would like?" So, he picked WCC. I think we are all going to love it, but the reviews lately haven't been the greatest. Of course, restaurants are very subjective. I'm just happy to hear that not only was the food good, but the service was above and beyond!

I agree that WCC doesn't get nice reviews on the boards here, not sure why. Each time we have eaten there it has been wonderful.
It is funny that your DH said what he did, sounds a lot like my DH. When we were planning our ressies WCC was his only request! LOL
We ate at Le Cellier this time (for the first time) and DH was so set against it, complained that he didn't want to eat in "the cellar"....lol But he liked it. The food was very good. WCC is still his favorite and is high on my list too!

Glad you had such wonderful service and a special time at the WCC for your honeymoon. Unfortunately, we were one of those that did not enjoy it and won't go back, but I'm glad to see that it worked out so great for you. Congratulations on your wedding.

I think I'll need to go back to WCC now - we went for such an early breakfast that there was no atmosphere - but the food was great!

Congratulations

I love WCC! I have food allergies and they were so great about it. The chef himself came out to talk to me about it. I would recommend them to anyone.

We ate at WCC on 12/6 and really enjoyed our meal. I was pretty skeptical as this was our frist time trying it and the reviews are pretty mixed. We did have to wait a while even with our reservations, so we were all a little grumpy by the time we were seated. At that point I didn't want all of the extra stuff, but just wanted our food. I had the skillet and DH had the ribeye and DD6 I beleive had a hamburger. Our server (can't remember her name) was wonderful. She tossed all kinds of napking and straws at DD and she got such a kick out of that. At first she was shocked, but then she got into it. Of course she asked for ketchup and got 20 bottles which she thought was great. There was an older gentlemen that caught her sticking her little light up tinkerbelle on her nose and he came over and put probably 10 Mickey stickers all over her face. Even if the food isn't great it is worth going to this restaurant especially with your children for the memory of it. My DD6 couldn't wait to call her Mimi and tell her about what had happened during dinner. This ended up being told about rather than the sleigh ride we had taken prior to dinner!
