Hi, We often have cards on cruises, that are used for room entrance, charging, etc. the ship uses a hole puncher when you get the card, and you can carry it on a lanyard around your neck. Do the Disney Resorts also have hole punchers, and will they do this upon getting the cards at check-in? My daughter never has pockets on her shorts, and she doesn't carry a handbag.

Thanks.

Since the new KTTW cards are RFID, I would definitely ask a front desk CM to do this rather than trying to do it yourself- just in case you ruin the 'works' embedded in the card.

We use lanyards all the time at WDW, but we put our cards inside clear plastic zip pouches that are attached to the lanyards. You can buy these pouches at just about any office supply store or department.

The KTTW cards have an RFID chip embedded in them, and also an antenna wire "woven" throughout the card. It is not recommended to punch holes in them.

However, there are lanyards with a plastic "pouch" attached to them, and you can put your KTTW card in there with no mutilation of the card.

If you want something kind of cute, check the lanyards at Vera Bradley. I bought a lanyard and matching ID pouch - not really a pouch, it's a very slim ID holder. Big enough for the room key/ticket/debit card and some cash. It zips up. Small enough that you won't need to go through the bag check at park entrance.

I'm not sure about punching a hole in them.

We bought basic lanyards w/ a pouch at Walmart in the office supply section. They have a clear front to put your KTTW card and on the back side there is a zippered pocket where we put our cash, license, and credit card. :)

So are we all assuming that OP's family won't be eligible for Magic Bands?

If you don't see the plastic pouches for lanyards in a local store, you can try eBay.

Since the OP didn't raise the subject of MBs, give us her vacation dates, or mention which resort her family is staying at, why would we be discussing MBs? Even if they are being tested at her resort during her stay, there is (not yet) any requirement to use them.
