We have 4 adults (sisters) traveling in one room. Do they allow for each of us to have our own account onboard, if we each submit our own credit card at boarding? I know we'll each have different spending habits when it comes to drinks, souvenirs, and excursions. Just hoping to prevent alot of confusion at the end of the trip. Thanks for your input.

I had this same question, and got a couple of different answers--both from the board and when I called DCL. Bottom line was, when I cruised 5/22, they only took one card, but itemized everything on the bill so, the last night, we went to guest services and separated it there and then put it on the various charges. I talked a blue streak to the rep when we were checking in on 5/22, but she said there was no other way to do it!

When my mother and I shared a room we each had separate accounts. In fact my daughter won $250.00 ship board credit for the Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer game and since my mother was with her the credit went to her account not mine. You can fill out the cruise documentation and put a different credit card against each name if you want. It takes a little work but it can happen.

You should be able to. But on my last cruise this past November, I was in the room with my sister, and they put both of us on my cc by accident. Honestly, the guy at the terminal was old and confused easily. :confused3 We could have gone to GS to fix it, but she spent hardly any money, so she paid hers in cash.

You each can have your own credit card attached to the KTTW card, but becareful that you use your own KTTW card or your charges will go to the other person.

My cousin is going with my son and me and I don't see any problem as there is a credit info form in each set of docs. I will include my DS on mine and she will fill out the credit information for herself on hers. That's what we did last year and didn't have a problem. Everyone had their own seperate charges.

I went with 2 of my girlfriends last March, so there were 3 adults in one cabin. We each had seperate accounts. We got 3 different bills when it was time to go home, and they didn't mess up one charge. I was very impressed! When we checked in at the port, the lady asked us if we wanted seperate accounts, we told her yes, so she asked for each of our credit cards. It worked our perfectly. :flower:

Okay...to add a twist to the question...I was just looking over the passporter today...when I came up with a question to post simular to the OP's..but a little diffrent.

I know kids have a KTTW card...and if it's not punched they can have charging privileges....but then it also said "or they can have a spending limit set"...i know from asking last fall...they didn't do "set spending limits"....at that time it was all or none. So Has that changed? Or could you fill out their cc slip at check in with so much on their account? Any one know?

scrapperjill...

i would also like to know that question...i would love for my 12 year old to have a little spending $$ and i never thought about hooking him up to a cash only account...the only thing is that it would not limit him from spending over that amount if they wanted to!

p.s. vacation is spelled wrong in your signature! :flower: if you have read any of my posts, i cannot type nearly as well as i think! :rotfl:

I am curious about this also? My so who will be 12 year old at time of cruise has already been saving up money and he has a nice little amount. I think it would be great if I can set up his account with his money, he thinks it is cool how you use the kttw cards. And if I know him he is not a spender anyway, he probably will have some left over and then to get some of it back at the end of a cruise will be like another small gift!!! Now if it was my older son (who is not going!!!) He would be out of that money in the first 15 min. on the cruise!! Then complain about it the rest of the time!!
Also while we are on the subject of accounts, My and my sis-in-law will be using reward points that we have accumulated on our Disney Visa, she has lots more than I do. Is it possible for me to use some of hers? Can she transfer any to my account or should we just book things like spa packages under her for both of us! Does anyone understand what I mean!
Thanks for all the help?

As of our cruise in the beginning of May you could not have a spending limit...it was all or nothing.

Oops...didn't even notice that...and it's been up for months. :goodvibes I'll have to go into the User CP and do a quick fix. Half the time I'll to busy typing to notice typos...

Anyways....I don't see why they wouldn't do a cash only account...About going over the limit.. don't they call those who DON'T put down a cc back to GS when their getting close to their limit? I thought they did. I also don't think my DD 12 would think of trying to spend over what her account had...I think she is the kind of person who would be at GS daily getting her balance...so she knew just what she had. But again...if they'll split up rooms onto diffrent accounts for mixed cabin mates (friends, moms, aunts...and so on)....I don't see what the diffrence would be to set her up on her own. Maybe i'll ask over at the Passporter....that's where I saw they had it stated about kids and set limits (in the new ed 05 and I could swear it was in the 2nd ed also).

We cruised May 15th and there were 4 Adults in our stateroom, me,my husband, my sister and her husband(we won the trip, so why pay for an extra room LOL) anyway, when we filled out our booklets, my husband put our CC# on his and the same with my sister and her husband. NO BIG DEAL. Ever one gets a booklet so if everyone puts their own cc# in the right place you should be fine. All it is, is charging against you master card or Visa, except you don't show you cc just you KTTW Card that issue you when you check in. Have Fun, we did and we plan to do it again!!

Each KTTW card can be tied to a different credit card--that's no problem, and you can have all the documentation done in advance (fill out the card in your documents.)

Kids have charge priv. unless their KTTW is punched. THere is no way to limit them to a "cash only" account or anything else except by having them and you be responsible. I told my 13 year old that she had $50 on our 7 day. Your kid can go to guest services as often as they want to get a statement of their account (as can you.) However, the bottom line is that if a child overspends whatever limit you placed on them, it bounces back to your credit card--that is, DCL doesn't place any limit on their spending, only you do.

Yes, we all wish that there was some way that DCL would set up the computer to reject a kid's charge request at a pre-set amount, but....maybe if we all keep suggesting, it will come to pass.

On our last 3 sailings I gave DDs a "hot" KTTW card and they were VERY responsible. They are now 15 and 13.

I have "prepaid" visa cards that I baught my DDs for going to the mall and emergencies. You can simply make an online cash transfer to the cards and have each of your kids have their own.....so set a 300 or whatever limit load the card and let them shop....

Here is a web site that I use for gifts for customers....

I don't see how that's not possable...since you can put cash or travlers checks down as a deposit and not a cc...so why wouldn't you be able to but a deposit down in cash for your kids?

They have their own accounts at the bank...which I think we can get a "Visa check card"...I think i'll just go that way...and keep them spending what they earn.
