KTTW and Lanyard question

Do we always have to wear our KTTW card around our neck? If so, why is this necessary? If we are on the ship, doesn't that say that we belong, and therefore don't need a sign saying "we are supposed to be here"? I can understand needing it to purchase something, but can't we keep it in our pocket?
Not a big deal, but it doesn't make any sense to me.

Planning on keeping mine in my pocket.
Not sure about DS - he may have a fanny pack. I tried a key with him when we were at a hotel over the summer and he lost it. Thank goodness it was found - taught a lesson. His will NOT have charging priviledges and he wont get it until they are taken off his card.

No you do not need to wear the KTW card around your neck. You can carry it in you pocket, bag or whatever.

I have around my neck because if it is in my pocket I will forget it when I change and lock myself out of the room.

I AM NOT wearing my card around my neck! I have to wear my badge everyday I wont be wearing it on my vacation!!!!!
I throw it in my bag....am constantly looking for it and thinking I have lost it. Thats the way I LIKE it! If I wasn't misplacing things Johnny would think I was an imposter!

It seemed to be mostly kids & teens who wear their KTTW cards on lanyards. Kids are more likely to drop (i.e. lose) them if they're just carrying them around in their hands...

The young men in our group kept their cards in their pockets, but the young ladies mostly wore sundresses and shorts that didn't have pockets, so we REQUIRED them to keep the lanyards on whenever they were out of the room. (Partly this was so they could always get back into their own rooms, because they were often out doing things with adult family members staying in other rooms...)

Lanyards, fannie packs, pockets, purses... whatever works for you!

You do not need the KTTW card for identification purposes. You do need it to purchase anything and to get back into your room. Many times when DH and I were doing things together I would leave mine in the room.

A lot of womens clothes don't have pockets that will securely hold a card and I don't trust myself to just carry it around. The lanyard worked well for us.

Do they sell lanyard on the ship that will hold the KTTW cards, or do I have to buy them here and take them with to the ship? If so, where?

We got ours on the ship, I wanted a DCL one

Wear it at work everyday. So used to it that I feel "naked" without...

Some do not agree but.... One way to keep your KTTW Card is to bring along a paper punch and punch a hole ( I know not on the magnetic strip) and then put it on a small elastic bungee. That way kids or adults can have it on your wrist or ankle or looped around a belt loop or bag strap for safe keeping. Another thing to bring along but it works.
