I was wondering how often Kroger offers the 4X Fuel Points?
I was able to do really well this past promotion thanks to all the helpful people on the DIS boards:worship:
Mainly I bought WDW and US gift cards for our upcoming trip but also bought some others for Easter baskets, McDonald's to have on hand etc.
Any extra dollar went towards a GC.
I read the tip about filling up both cars (since the max is 35 gallons). My DH and I work within a few blocks from each other so we have been meeting to fill up our cars at Kroger. I figure I'll save around $200-$240 total:cool1:
Thanks again:goodvibes

I have seen it maybe done quarterly or every 4-5 months.

Question about filling up two cars........do you pull up the first car, fill it up, take out handle, move first car & pull-up 2nd car, reinsert handle & proceed to fill-up the 2nd car? I have always thought about doing this but was told that you couldn't.

I recently asked at my local Kroger after reading about this on the DIS and was told it is ok to do but just be sure not to put the pump back because it will complete the sale and you can only use the discount once. I would love top hear from someone that has dont this.

My husband and I have done this a couple of times. We just line up at the same pump, fill up one car and lay the nozzle down next to the pump and I drive away in the first car and he pulls right up with the second car. It has not been a problem. We are in Mississippi. I figure if those vehicles that have huge fuel tanks can take advantage, those of us with smaller tanks should be able to as well.

tadamom & candy0730,
My DH and I have done this a few times.
We basically do what tadamom said.
I pull up my van and my DH pulls his jeep behind the van.
He fills up the van.
I'll pull the van in a parking space right across from the fuel center.
He stands there with the handle/nozzle while I get in the jeep and pull it up so he can fill up his jeep.
You are in correct in stating that you do not want to put the nozzle back into the pump. That will complete the sale and you won't receive the discount on the next vehicle.
We have used a pump which has been right by the the stand where the gas attendant is and they haven't said anything to us.
HTH,
Amy

We do it differently. I pull up at the pump, my wife pulls up at the punp directly across from me. The same hose goes from my tank, across the pump and into her tank. We don't need to move vehicles or lay down a hose to make it work.

We save $30 every fillup and have 6 more fillups to use before the end of May.

Great idea on the double fill-up.

I know that Kroger did a previous 4x fuel-point promotion around last August because I recall doing it when school was starting up and buying gift cards for school supplies.

Just an FYI. We filled 2 cars and topped off another tonight because I had $1.00 in Fuel Rewards. DH read the sign on the pump and is does say ONE car but like I said, I filled up 3 cars and no one said anything. I spent $91.xx but saved a whopping $35. Well worth it. :thumbsup2

But you only got the 35 gallon max, right?

Our Dillons store has the 4X points everyday now on gift cards. I have been getting 4X all year with one week getting 6X. I get about 35 gallons every week. My wife 35 gallone every other week. Saves us 14% on the gift cards. I purchase Disney, Home Depot, Target, Amazon, and Justice cards.

The 4X points started a few days ago and runs through June 17. I just bought a couple hundred dollars worth of gas cards (leaving on a non-Disney vacation this Saturday).

This is in the Cincinnati area.

Does everyone else have the 4X points?

4X points is going on now in Illinois through June 20!

My Kroger only sells $25 Disney GC so I am trying to decide how many to buy because it will be a pain to use them to pay off my balance for my upcoming trip.

I had to buy quite a lot of the smaller denominations of the Disney GC. I split them up into a few separate calls. The CM had no problem taking 10 at a time.

If I bought the Disney gift cards now, and won't use them until January, would that work? I know some gift cards lose value/charge a fee if they aren't used in a certain amount of time. I wouldn't want to buy the cards now if they were to lose value.

Last week I bought $500 worth of GC (20 -$25 cards). I used the $2.00 off each gallon to fill up my car and my husbands tonight. We saved $60! :cool1:

Next thing to do is call Disney and apply all the gift cards to my reservation. They are gonna love me.... :rotfl:
