Well I am sure you have all read plenty of peoples journals and here is one more to add to the list. Not sure how entailed these are supposed to be so here it goes.

I am 31yrs old and have been married for 10yrs and have two daughters. At one time I remember having a somewhat nice body but I just started to let go way to many years ago. To be totally honest I have no clue what to do at this point. The scale is now 305 and I want to be 160....my plan is to go in ten pound sets. We are going on a Western cruise in sept2006 so I know if I stick to it that I should be able to do it.

My husband is really supportive but he is in the same boat as me. The bad thing is that we are never on the same page at the same time. When I am gungho he is in the chips and candy and when he is on track I am the bad one. So I have to just think of me....does that sound bad?

My eatting is the worst, I have tried weightwatchers, carb diets but I do well the first 2wks and than I loose it. I am pretty good about setting an excersise plan and sticking to it for about 2wks as well. I hope you all can give me some good advice because I know I do not want to continue along this route.

Thanks for lisenting :wave2:

Welcome to WISH Kristin!!

Your journal can be as detailed as you wish. Read a few of the others to see what others have written about, as it all varies. The great thing that I find about journaling is I tend to use it as my daily goals to remind me of what I want to accomplish. Journals are great for including your meal plan of attack (and how far you strayed or didn't), your exercise plans, and just the general up and down feelings that you have while trying to reach your goal.

The people here are GREAT! I have been at this for 1 week and I feel better everyday, just reading the words of encouragement from everyone (and giving some myself). You will find that the people here really do understand all the physical and mental challenges as you work to lose.

As far as being selfish and thinking only of you............BE SELFISH!! Only you can change you and hopefully hubby will follow suit. But for now, you deserve this time for yourself to get healthy, so that you can be stronger for your family in the long run. Just remember to take it one step at a time. YOU CAN DO IT! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Again. WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME!!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Oh I forgot to mention this in my main post this is klh1973 and I am hopefully back on track.

Just walked almost 1mile on treadmill

day 2

Did a great job yesterday, I stayed OP all day. My body hurts pretty bad from the workout but that is to be expected. I think I went into a trance on the treadmill just kept chanting in my head disney cruise need to loose 100pounds. I have read so many of your journals and you guys are doing so good, it gives me a really good feeling. Today I am going to keep to eatting right and work out again and get to peoples journals and post some more.

Welcome back to WISH Kristin! You know we will be here for support. You need to be selfish...but in the long run you are doing what's best for your family. They will see that as you become more active with them. Eventually they will cheer you on as well! Take it day by day. If you slip up one day...just remember that all is not over...dust yourself off and start again.

Have a wonderful day!

still day 2

Well I am not eatting as good as I should be but compared to what I would normally eat I am doing so good. My hips are killing me from walking 1mile yesterday and 1mile today. I know my body has to get used to this but when I say 1 mile ....it does not seem like much. The problem I am having this I work out of my home caring for 2 kids and I really don't have to move around a ton. Basically I am on the floor playing with them and the snacks in the house are what kids want but not what I need.

Kristin

Keep up the good work Kristin! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I too work at home and it is great, but the downside is that you don't have to leave the house much and the food is always there, unlike most jobs. Sometimes, I take the time in the morning to pamper myself so that I feel better for the rest of the day and more motivated.

Congrats on walking 2 miles in 2 days! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

day 3

I woke up way to early for it to be a Saturday. So drinking some soda and getting ready to do the shower thing. My hips are still killing me but around 10am I am going to do a walk outside that way if I get a mile away from home I have to get back so that will be a total of 2miles. I might be crawling when I get back but we will see.

My food thing is still not as good as it should be. I cant decide if I want to do the carb thing or WW. I do so enjoy my breads. So what I have been doing so far is cutting my portions in half of what I had been eatting and rethinking the bryers icecream when I see it. The scale is already starting to move so I know I am doing good .
But I just keep thinking if I pushed myself to decide than it would move faster. But on the other hand evertime I push myself within 2wks I buckle.Soooo maybe it is best to just be loosy goosey with the eatting and consintrate on the excersise.

What do you all think?

Kristin

Starting out with portion control is a GREAT idea. :cool1: I started that way as has many others here and it makes a difference. You're trying to retrain what you think about eating and that does take time. So hang in there and while you are working on your portions, look at some of the different food plans to see what will work best for you. Good luck on getting back home during your walk. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Hi Kristin!

Welcome to the journals! It's great that you're comitted to getting healthier! Focus on yourself--maybe DH will be inspired by your progress. My DH and I have the same type of issue, it can be hard when one of you is ready and the other isn't.

Good job with the exercise--that's such a huge help to losing weight. As for food, Rome wasn't built in a day. It takes a long time to unlearn bad eating habits and there's a lot of trial and error before you figure out what can work for you. Take a look at my journal--you'll see I get it wrong more than I get it right, but the key to success is being willing to pick yourself up and try again. That's what makes the difference.

Best wishes to you! :flower:

still day 3

Well I did my walk but only made it 1mile but the twist is the mile was all up hill and my rear was stinging when I got home. Lunch was left over pizza but only ate half of what I normally would. Got all my water in and I am feeling good except for my hips.

We are planning on going to OLD COUNTRY BUFFETT for dinner with the kids so hopefully I will not drown in gravy and taters.

Talk more tomorrow.

Kristin

UPDATEJust got back from dinner and it could have been worse. Had seconds with dinner but only one small dessert. So in the past would prob gotten 2 desserts and my dinner portions would have been larger. When you go to a buffett you loose control.

Day 4

Oh my gosh I woke up at 4am.....husbands work called and woke us up. My whole body is hurting. Promised the kids we would go to the Y and go swimming. Plan for the day ....
-drink water amount
-keep eatting smaller portions
-not drown from being sore at Y
-go to grocery store and buy smart stuff

Kristin

Also my husband must have noticed me working at this because when I went for my 1mile walk outside yesterday I came home to find him on the treadmill.

Way to go Kristin. Hubby must be feeling guilty, which may not be bad. Keep up the good work and lead by example. You're doing great! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Update to my day

Well I must have gotten my water intake at the Y because I did not drink any water today. I was able to make it 10 laps at the pool and almost could not make it to the ladder so I figured it was quit now or risk the life guard having to save me :rotfl2: After I endulged by sitting in the jacuzzi for 15min. After I hit the grocery store and bought really good stuff. Told the kids they are on the diet change also because if I buy it for them then I will eat it while they are at school. They are really supportive and for now they say go for it. Hopefully they will not commit mutiny on me to soon. Soooo I got home and was so so tired got my PJ's on at 3pm and did not move again.

My food today was pretty good controlled my meal portions but when I put a movie in and started munching on some rice cakes I finished the bag.......EEK so that was 3 portions and about 250 calories so when you look at it that way not to bad. It could have been bryers ice cream ( my secret vise ).

Thanks guys for being so supportive.

Kristin

Day 5

Well things are off to a good start. Still pretty sore but just need to get used to it. Did the slim fast thing for breakfast and that is the plan for lunch as well. Dinner is going to be fish and brocolli. Working on water right now.

I am a bit blue about the scale.....think it should be moving faster :confused3

Kristin

Thanks for stopping by my journal, Kristin.

Hang in there, the scale will move. You are doing so good on your exercise, much better than me. :cheer2: Of course, you might want to reconsider drinking the pool water. :rotfl2:

And don't worry about the rice cakes. It's over, done, and could have been something really SINFUL. On to a better day!! ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Still Day 5

Lunch got turned into a chicken sandwich with doritos (in moderation).
Dinner was the fish and brocolli

I made it a whole mile at speed 3.0...in 25min. Now this might be slow to some of you. But to keep up that speed the whole time was hard for me.

After I got on the floor and did stomach stuff that came from the Y and who ever made up these work outs is EVIL!!!!

Hope you all had a good day and thanks for the support.

Kristin

Hi Kristin! I just started my journal recently too. It's a great place to organize your thoughts and track your progress/daily commitment.

I know what you mean about getting your DH on the right track with you. Me and my DH have been trying to work on menus together--he needs low cholesterol and I'm trying to do less carbs (but not no carb). We've just been doing lots of fresh fruits and veggies, protein, and whole grains as much as possible.

Day 6

Things are going to be wild the next 2 days. I am a single mom because hubby is out of town. Got the slim fast shake going in me now and that is the plan for lunch as well. My body is killing me and I am terribly sore. I know you guys are sick of hearing me complain but my body hurts :rotfl: Well gotta get the kids to school and drink my water. I will update more later. Have a great day guys

Kristin

UPDATE
did my 1mile on the treddie and got it done in 22min so I shaved 3min off from yesterday. My right calf started cramping at about .80 so i think I need to not go any faster untill my body gets used to it. Drinking half my water and munching on a banana.
