Kristina's Journal

I had my WW meeting this morning.

I gained .2 lb. I know that's next to nothing in terms of a gain, but it certainly isn't a loss.

I'm so bummed out. One dinner? One dinner where I don't pay attention to WW and I'm screwed over. That just doesn't seem fair, and it sure bodes ill for Disney World, where I expect to loosen up and just enjoy myself.

I even went for an hour-long walk with the dog this morning. I drank a million glasses of water yesterday....I'm so frustrated.

I know it's not a huge setback, but I really wanted to be in the 160s before Florida, and I'm running out of time. I'm at 177 today, and I only have 18 days before I leave.

Sadly,

Kris

Sorry weigh in didn't go well Kris. :( Should we schedule a scale bashing party??:badpc:

Don't forget, Chinese food is loaded with sodium - maybe it is just water weight hanging tuff?? Continue to follow the program and do your exercise! Hopefully next week will have better results for you!::yes::

I sympathize with you Kris - we've all been there. But just think about all the good things your doing for yourself, even if you don't make your goal before vacation. Those are all positive changes for you!::yes:: The weight will eventually come off if you follow the program and do the exercise. It just make take longer than any of us hoped for.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

The BLOAT FAIRY STINKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Kris, I am sorry about your disappointing weigh in. It doesn't matter how big or small the number is, a person can't help but feel frustrated. :confused3

However, I *know* it isn't anything and you *know* it isn't anything, and soon the WHOOSH fairy will be here to take that nasty water weight away and some fat too!

Don't worry about WDW. You are going to go on your trip and use those little tricks you have learned and do just great! I have yet to gain on a WDW trip (a cruise is a completely different story however :o :scared: ). Too much stuff to do and too much walking! ::yes::

Keep moving in the right direction and you will get there! :moped: I know you can!!

Sending you :sunny: and :wizard: and some :drinking: too. ;)

Dear Terry and Sharon,

Thank you so much for the encouragement. It means a lot to me. And you're right, I need to focus beyond losing weight for the vacation to just losing weight for me, for the long term. But Terry, I find it most encouraging to hear that you haven't gained at WDW before, with all the walking and such! I have some wonderful PS lined up!

Time to drag my lazy DH out of bed so I can get to the gym this morning!

God bless,

Kris

Yummy! Do tell!! I love hearing about plans at WDW! :listen:

Just to give you an idea of how I eat at WDW. We typically do breakfast in the room. Cereal, bagel, breakfast bar - that kind of thing. I also bring snacks with us to the parks. Granola bars, nuts, pretzels, trail mix - it seems to help with those mid morning munchies (we are park commandos and get up and Go Go GO!). For lunch, I remember the WW guidelines and try to go for the healthier choice. Not always the salad, but not loaded with mayo either. ;) Dinner - I pick whatever I want. :teeth: We also typically buy one snack in the park. My kids love the Mickey bars. Heck - so does my DH! I like the strawberry fruit bar. Yum. Or a soft pretzel! Or popcorn!! Yum Yum!! We drink a lot of water in the parks - saving our soda drinking for the resort with our refillable mugs. My family can drink a case of 32 water bottles in a week, easily. :drinking:
We start early at the parks - take a break after lunch for my DH's back - and close down the parks! Too much fun to be had!!

I know you will do great! Focus on the fun and remember - this is VACATION! Enjoy yourself. You cannot get Main Street Popcorn anywhere except on Main Street USA! ::yes:: :hyper: ::MickeyMo And think of the money you would be wasting if you didn't take advantage of the AKL conceirge treats! :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Hey Kris...

Hang in there. I'm sure the .2 gain was from the chinese food, so just keep drinking the water and you'll be fine. I bet your next weight in you'll have a huge loss. I know it gets frustrating some times and I agree with you about the WW meetings keeping you focused. Sometimes I wish I could go every day :p I bet you'll be celebrating your 10 pound clippie soon :sunny:

Thank you, Tera! I'm in a much better mood than yesterday. Knowing I've been behaving myself, despite the scale, I treated myself to a pre-Florida tanning session, which somehow always makes me feel more vibrant. I'm going to the gym to work out tomorrow, and if it stops raining, I'll walk the dog (I have my limits, and cold rain is one of them).

Thank you for the water reminder, I'll go fill my glass again in a minute.

Terry, let's see....the Yummy factor! Well, we begin with a dinner at Boma the first night. The next morning, we dine with Cinderella and the gang at the Castle, and then have dinner that night with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickeys. The following night, we eat at Ohana prior to going to MVMCP. Then we have Le Cellier, Spoodles, Crystal Palace, and Whispering Canyon. I'm toying with making a dinner PS for 1900 Park Fare our last night, but I'm not sure we'll stay late enough for dinner. Then, as you so kindly pointed out, we have our Concierge Lounge for two nights, and of course, the breakfast buffet at Tusker House the morning of the Safari. We have breakfast at Boma the day we check into AKL. I think that's everything...(yipes!). Thank God for the condo address that gives us two residences and access to the Disney Dining Experience!

The strawberry fruit bar and popcorn sound right up my alley. I can't have dairy, so Mickey ears are out in any case. I'm told that Dole Whips will be safe for me and for Meredith; I hope it's true! And yes, for sure we'll be bringing a case of water up to WDW from the condo with us!

Feeling better, thank you all,

Kris

Hi Kris,

Your PS look great. I can't wait to go back, but I have over a year to wait. I would go ahead an make the early PS for 1900. If you end up staying a bit later, you have a wonderful dinner all set. If not, you can cancel.

The Dole wwhip is soy based, so it is safe for you. They also had a soy based yugurt at the ice cream shop on Main Street. Unfortunately, DD is also allergic to soy. The fruit bars are yummy though, and they have a huge popsicle that you also get at all the parks. With your PS, you can call ahead and tell them about the allergy, and they will arrange safe meals and desserts for you. Flying Fish made Katie a spun sugar bowl filled with a sorbet and dairy-free crisp cookies. I asked for the recipe for the cookies. Katie's meal at CM was fabulous too.

I maintained my weight on our last trip. It is a lot of walking. If you do end up gaining, you have the tools and motivation to take it back off. Enjoy the trip.

I hope you have a pleasant evening,
Beth

Kris - Good for you to treat yourself. It's weird how much better you feel with a little color on your skin, especially this time of year. We didn't have a very hot summer, so I wasn't in the sun as much as normal, plus I had been really good about putting SPF 30 on. For our cruise, I'm planning to tan just a few times and then do the sunless.

Oh no, Beth! Thank you for telling me; we can't have soy, either! Urgh! Fruit bars and popsicles it is...

I've let everyone know about the allergies, so I'm expecting good things; it's consistent that everyone says they're terrific about it all.

Thank you a million times over, I wouldn't have thought of soy with the Dole Whips. I'm still adjusting to this food allergy stuff, it's all new...

Kris

Hey Kristina,

Did they give you the numbers for the restaurants? It really helps to call a week ahead. Food allergies definately takes some getting used to. Of you have any questions feel free PM me. I've been dealing with them for awhile.

Beth

Weigh-in tomorrow. I'm hoping for a change.

I've changed from my WISH clippie to a Ticker.com slide, because I wanted credit for those four pounds!!

I've been really, really good this week, I'm hoping for good results. I weigh in at home at 172, first thing in the morning, without my clothes. That should translate to 174 or so at WW...which would be nearly 3 down. Here's praying it continues or even improves.

I worked out today at the gym, not for a long one, but something, anyway. I went grocery shopping on an empty stomach and still didn't come home with any crap.

I'm living on chicken and salad and fruit. I hardly ever have bread (I'm a carb fiend). I just need to drink a few gallons of water and then get some writing done for my next article (I write for a parenting magazine).

Please sprinkle pixie dust, but don't worry too much about replying tonight; I'm going to get the kids to bed and then get writing, so I probably won't check before I have results to post, anyway.

I have less than two weeks before Florida. I have every intention of relaxing at Disney World, but I want to be really good until I check-in, so that everything keeps going down. And then RIGHT BACK ON THE WAGON WHEN I GET HOME!!

The biggest mistake I made last time I lost weight was quitting WW once I got my lifetime membership. I won't make that mistake again.

God bless,

Kris

Hi Kristina! I hope you have a super duper weigh in tomorrow!!! :Pinkbounc

I love your new scale bar! I just got one today myself. They are so cute! ::yes::

Good Luck Kris with your weight in. Sending :wizard: your way.

Hey Kristina,

I am sending you major :goodvibes :wizard: :wizard: for your weighin tomorrow. What magazine do you write for?

Keep us posted. Good luck with the article.
Beth

Okay, I lied, I'm peeking in before bed, having finished the column.

I write for a local parenting magazine, and have been published in a few other magazines in Canada and the U.S. Small potato stuff so far, and no time to really expand the horizons yet, with my munchkins and a full-time job. This column is the easy one, the holiday book review. I get to do that once a year. The rest of the time, it's all parenting issues.

Michelle, your scale is lots of fun, too! Let's keep them sliding!

G'night all!

Kris

4.4 pounds!!!!

I'm feeling very cheerful indeed! Thank you for all the pixie dust and positive thoughts! Yippee!

If I can get to 169 before we go, I'll be absolutely content for the short-term goal!

Off to make a healthy lunch!

Kris
