Mmmmmmm.....Krispy Kreme!

My friends dd got a part-time job there ... she said anytime we want some, she'll give her the money to pick some up when she's working. I'm guessing that the line-ups will be totally brutal for the first little while. Picture me avoiding that intersection next week!

Definitely not enough, Kathe! I have already downloaded the nutritional  information for the KK doughnuts. Did you get to taste all 48? Do you have a favourite, yet? (I'm so glad that KK is w-a-a-a-a-y across the city. I know that I'd be really tempted to visit regularly :D )

i don't even want to know how many calories, debbie LOL:D there are 48 flavours:eek: my favorite so far is the raspberry filled. my son's favorite is whichever one he happens to be eating at the time, luckily i won't get to try them all as long as he's around;)

I really liked the Key Lime filled ones they had over the summer. I'll have to give the raspberry ones a try, Kathe, so far the only other filled one I've had is the creme and then of course the original.

All you people are crazy:crazy:
All this fuss over a donut:rolleyes:
But maybe that's because we do not have one close to us in Ajax, or for that matter the eastern part of Toronto:mad:

Maybe sometime:smooth:

I live down the street from the new Krispy Kreme and must go by it to get to Loblaws, the library and the Wally World driving range. I hope there's not a traffic jam tomorrow!

That corner is getting to be a zoo. It will be worse if they put the Walmart in at the water park.

There was a photo in the paper this morning of a guy who lined up yesterday afternoon with his lawn chair and cooler - he camped out overnight just to be the first person in line when the doors opened at 6:00am this morning. Here's the link, although it may only stay on-line just a day or so.

Some people really do need to get a life. Wait a minute - he's a city hall employee. Never mind. ;)

I drove by this morning. The drive-thru is very busy. They have lanes of orange traffic cones weaving around the Loblaws parking lot and valets directing traffic!

Just down the road from my DBIL!! Next time we're going to get together I'll have to get him to pick some up for us!! Or maybe we should just have a London DIS meet!!!

Julie-key lime? how did i miss this one, or did they just have it for summer?

wtg2000-you're right about the traffic at this corner, i think in a year or 2 it will be just like fanshawe & richmond

Baboo- i would love a london meet:D

We had a London meet at Tiger Jack's (Wharn-South) a couple years ago. Was anyone else there? I must admit I forget everyone's name that was there.

wtg2000 : We were there and also Tigercat and TimNDan's Mom.I think a London meet would be great. The weekends are good for most people and if we meet in Oct. Julie will have her pics. Last year we met in Nov. in Niagara Falls for a Disney light display. I hope it will be there again.

I was also at the original meet at Tiger Jack's - must have been 3 years ago now. Pooh was going to come up from Chatham as well, but IIRC she came down with the flu that day.

We drove by the KK last night (on our way to Herm's to get some hockey equipment for DS) and we were astounded by the number of people who have nothing better to do than line up in their cars (polluting the environment) for hours for a box or two of doughnuts (polluting their bodies).

[climbing down from soapbox]

There is an interesting op-ed piece in this morning's Free Press by Ian Gillespie, with which I wholeheartedly concur.

I was at the first meet at Tiger Jack's, but it was quite a few years ago. I think Mike was there too.

Yes Deb, I was at that meet at Tiger Jack's back in 2000 and I know I sat beside you and met Darren and Lisa (DSNYFN) but (and please forgive me) I don't remember meeting Tigercat, MikeJ or wtg2000 that day. I came late because I was having car trouble and was so nervous about meeting a group of strangers so that's probably why I don't remember. And here we all are 3 years later!!!

Will the London meet be at the new KK? ;) :p I'll be back from my trip October 9.

Kathe, the Key Lime were only a summer special, unfortunately. I think it ran for only a couple of months, ending after the Civic Holiday in August, if I remember correctly. I hope they have it again next year.

My first KK "experience" was at the shop on 192 and so when I go to them now up here it reminds me of being back down in Orlando. :bounce:
