Krispy Kremes on West Coast

Ooooooo good question we are going to Alaska, would love to know!

We're doing the Vancouver to San Diego in September, does anyone know if they serve KK's on the Wonder when she's on the west coast? TIA

We're going to be on the same cruise as you! oooh I had no idea DCL served KK donuts! If you find out beforehand that our cruise won't have any I can always go to our local KK shop (about 15 minutes from home) and buy a few boxes for our fellow cruise passengers LOL

Can't say for sure whether the Wonder will have them or not, but I'll just point out when DCL does have them they aren't "fresh". They are frozen. Then thawed for service.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea but I've sailed on the Wonder four times and never heard of this before.

We had them on the Wonder last Easter and my understanding is they have them on the Alaskan cruises. They were at Pinocchio's Pizza. They have cinnamon raisin and regular

That is so nice of you to offer, we actually have a KK in AZ buth kids love getting them for b'fast on the Fantasy and Dream. We've never been on the Wonder so we're really looking forward to it!

We had them on the Wonder in Alaska, but that was almost three years ago, so obviously it might have changed. Hopefully someone who has sailed to Alaska recently can confirm. But to second what Princess Schmoo said, they aren't fresh. They freeze them and then thaw them out prior to serving. I thought they were ok, but they definitely don't taste like the ones you get from a local KK store, or even the grocery store. Still, I guess a thawed KK is better than no KK!!

I used to work less than a mile from the original KK store, and I have NEVER seen "cinnamon raisin" donuts.

Frozen, then thawed - or a day or so old - is my favorite way to eat them! Of course the BEST would be one of those and then 10 seconds in the microwave, but you take what you can get. :P

My DS11 will be so happy! I just told him today he couldn't have KK doughnuts because of all the sweets will be having on cruise. He will love to hear that his beloved KK can be among them!

Again, I believe the poster that you're quoting is talking about the pretzels, not Krispy Kremes.

Oh, sorry. I missed the change from delicious donuts to mediocre things like pretzels. :P (NOT a pretzel fan.)

Oops! I guess I did too.

Anyone know if they have them on the Wonder Carribbean cruises?

You might not be able to enjoy them on board... but you can get some in Vancouver suburb...

Kinda hard getting there by public transit, but not an issue in a vehicle.

Oh lord, Krispy Kreme Donuts. Every gas station and mini-mart had them for a while here. but I live in a city where the individual stores all went bell up.....although a few new ones have opened in the past year..
Never understood the draw, but especially on a ship with a bakery, I would expect fresh hot made on the ship donuts, not some frozen store donut. I never saw them on board, but it doesn't mean they weren't there.

I had similar thoughts until I made my first visit...
  • The competition's are made elsewhere reheated in a store microwave. http://www.canada.com/story.html?id=5292f806-bb77-4ca5-8e0c-2a24ee1cdc61 . I still can't believe Alaska serves your frozen crab while Vancouver's is live.
  • Krispy's donuts are made onsite. Look for the store "Hot Now" light for ultimate freshness.
  • Krispy has a great showcase of the donuts being made as you walk into the store.
  • Love the free samples to hook you.
