 It seems like everyone I talk to is having a miserable time with work..and the house thing...don't worry or get too bummed, everything will work out.

Yay for Whitehall! Such a pretty space, you have the indoor/outdoor areas and (obstructed but whatever) view of Wishes!

I know it seems to be happening to everyone I know too. I'm glad we get to keep the money we would have put into the house but I'm a bit sad that DD won't have her own yard to play in whenever she wants. Oh well, she loves the park. So she doesn't really seem to mind at all. :)

Yeah I'm excited to be getting the two venues at one time situation. The monorail obstruction doesn't look too bad and I'm not that much of a bridezilla to get the vapors over it. Definitely going to go with an outdoor dinner on the patio with dancing and highboy tables inside so we won't get too crowded or have to worry about the noise curfew.

Yay for Whitehall!! That's a great choice!!

And your theme will look great! :thumbsup2

Thanks! I'm thinking tree branches and candles and a pastel color scheme...
Still tooling around with details. Lots of time to keep changing my mind. ;)

The WHR&P is booked for our day!!:sad1:

We have been penciled in for the 25th in the St. James Room. :rolleyes2 Not gonna lie, don't want to offend, but no thanks. It's just a regular ballroom with a patio. Really not what I want otherwise, I might as well get married here at home with a prom on the other side of the temporary wall and the same chicken dish that I've had about six times before at my friends' weddings. :crazy2:

However, the 24th and 26th are available. After some quick thinking and looking at Mark with the "puppy dog/what do you think we should do?" look, we chose to go with the 26th. It's a friday, which means our minimum will increase. Luckily, we were going to end up spending more than that on thursday. I'm starting to think this will work out better for us in the long run as long as any outside vendors we may use don't up their price for a Friday night...

So, we are now an October 26th, 2012 DFTW.

boo for having to change your date... but yay for getting the room you want the next day and still having a dftw!! maybe it'll be a hallo-wishes night!! i hear those are the best fireworks!! we've never seen them, but will next year!! we arrive on november 1 and are going that night!! it'll all work out... and it will for sure be better than prom and a home wedding!! i know exactly what you mean!!

The HalloWishes fireworks are awesome! I've seen it twice. They fire off all around the perimeter of the park. I was just blown away by that as I'm sure you two will be as well. :)

I think the Friday before Halloween should be a good bet for seeing them from WHR :wizard: and it will tie in nicely with the Jack & Sally thing we've got planned. pirate::bride::santa:

Ugh I'm so sorry to hear that! But glad that you were able to switch and things will still work out. Was it a conference that had the room booked or did you lose the lottery to another wedding? Or did you decide to switch after the 16 month mark and it was already taken? Sorry for the 20 questions lol

I had to move our date too b/c a conference kept us from being able to book our ceremony location so I know how it feels :sad2:

I saw that had happened to you but at least you made it work out. I'm guessing we asked to change it after the 16 month mark and someone already had it booked. Most conferences last longer than a day and the WHR was open the day before and after. We just chose the 25th because we liked having a thursday wedding, but a friday event will work too.

Just can't wait to get all my plans sorted out and posted. We still have so much time to go!

:banana::banana::banana::banana:
DD requested the bananas be added. :3dglasses <---That's mine.

In an effort to keep Mark from going insane by listening to me babble on about wedding ideas and then changing my mind, I have decided to have a Wedding Talk Day once a month. We have set aside one day a month that we will talk about a certain aspect of the wedding and set it in stone.

On the horizon: Talking about what really want/don't want and what is most important. It's a "Let's Blue Sky our wedding and work from this together" discussion because, I'll be honest, I've been pouring myself over so many things lately and working off of being totally unsure about what FH wants that it's been stressing me out and I'll I've done is "wah wah wah" on here. I'm sick of doing that. He loves to make jokes when I ask him questions so I can never get a straight answer out of him when I would really appreciate one. He wants a slip 'n' slide aisle runner ending at a bouncy castle altar, a boutonniere made of buttons in the shape of an ear (get it? A Button-Ear!) and he wants to wear shorts instead of a tux.

Hopefully we can get this wedding into shape, for realsy. I'm thinking of putting up a piece of paper in our kitchen with these questions for him and see if he'll think about it before WTD. I can't wait to see what hilarity may ensure from this little exercise. popcorn::

I'm really starting to gun for a masquerade wedding. How fun would it be to have everyone in fun, exotic costumes with fancy masks on during the ceremony AND reception?

I'll let you know how it goes in about a month since I missed this month's day by 24 hours after making this decision. :rotfl2: Whoops!

On an upswing...Mark did like the idea of a Trash the Dress session instead of us plummeting down a side by side water slide into a shallow pool filled with our guests to begin the ceremony.

Kristen - I know what it is like to have a joking man around. You quite often can't get a serious word out of my DH. It is fun most of the time, but when you are trying to get a decision made, it can be darn right annoying!!! However, I really think that your DF may have hit on something with the 'button Ears'. It would be great to have a Mickey head made of coloured buttons. Very Disney!!!

Ughh, I can relate!!! :lmao: I'll ask Chris questions about the wedding and he'll either be like, "it's up to you..." or "you never listen to what I say and just choose it on your own." I like the idea of your talk about wedding day...Hopefully it'll work out! Can't wait to hear what sorts of things you set in stone.

Agreed, it can be fun living with a jokester until it's time to get serious. I'll have to run the mickey ears idea by him and see if he goes for it. Pretty sure he wants an anatomically correct human ear pinned to his lapel/tuxedo t-shirt. He'd probably rig it to squirt water too...

I get that reaction too and he is right. I do keep changing things after we pick something together. :rolleyes1:Thus the Wedding Talk Day so no more me changing things from now on and he buckling down and planning this shindig with me. I'm pretty excited to see what comes of this too!

ahh boys. df wants a tuxedo t-shirt, to get married on february 30th, and have perry the platypus as his best man----but it's funny how when you finally decide to take matters into your own hands, they suddenly have an opinion, lol.

i love trash the dress sessions :) they're fun! i'll have to live vicariously through yours because my aunt would have a panic attack if i got the dress she bought me all wet

ps... labrynth is one of my favorite movies :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I LOL at this. Oh boys, why do you think the way you do??! Brian wants a wrestler for our officiant, to wear some weird white suit from the 1970's (which I believe he wore for a Halloween costume and bought from a flea market), and some other random weird things--all which are not going to happen.

Masquerade wedding would be fun! And the once a month talk would be great! I'm sure Brian would have appreciated it if I had thought about something like this. I try, TRY not to talk about it non-stop. Good thing we have these boards!!!

Sounds like your DF and my FH should go bowling. :rotfl: I think I've heard the tuxedo t-shirt thing from Mark too. I said he could wear it to the rehearsal. I haven't told Mom about the trash the dress session and I have to check the fabric tag for my dress to make sure it won't be destroyed. I'm hoping she won't go catatonic when I break the news.

Ps...YAY!!! I was watching it last night while going to sleep. It's right up there with Princess Bride and Moonstruck for me.

Ok I take it back your DF, Deena's DF and my FH should all go bowling or visit the Phineas and Ferb play and greet together. :lmao: -- Mark just snuck up on me and scared the :scared1: out of me! He also said he's down for the P&F P&G with your guys.

I'm hoping it will help with a bit of friction we've had lately. Every time I think of something and want to tell him, I stop myself and remember to save it for WTD. We actually talk about other things now. It's...nice. :lovestruc

And absolutely agree about these boards. Thank goodness there were Elks clubs and brandy for our Dads and Grandfathers to use as an escape back in the day! ;)

Kristen sweetie - You will really enjoy your TTD!!! It was probably my favourite part of the VR (funwise anyway)!!! I didn't even bother checking if my dress would be okay in the water  I just went for it!!! It has cleaned up perfectly though.
My mother could not understand at all about the TTD. She kept saying ' Surely you are not going to do this!!! You are not going in the water in that beautiful dress' Even now when she sees the photos, she is very reserved in her comments. She just can't seem to understand it at all!!!

Can't wait to see your pictures on your PJ of your TTD. :goodvibes

I've heard the chlorine in swimming pools can actually leave the dress cleaned once it dries. But I still want to make sure it doesn't disintegrate the lace on my dress or something to that effect. :scared:

I believe that I have found an outfit for DD as the flower girl. She has seen pictures and loves it. It's very her. She is requesting it to be red because it is her favorite color. Here is a shot of it:

I can order it custom to her size and any color(s) I want. I really want to order it now but, DD grows like a weed and who knows how tall she'll be at 4 1/2 years old. :confused3

So we play the waiting game and hope this person is sill making them this time next year. Not sure what to do for her top though. I'm thinking maybe a light button up sweater or a leotard if it's really warm that day.

Any ideas?

joining in here! I love your colors and theme! We got married in Oct and it was amazing. We dinseymooned and I am now planning our 10 year VR. I adore your dress! Can't wait to see what else you come up with! I am subscribing! I would go with a lace top or a leotard for the top on the tulle skirt. If the person isn't still making them, let me know. I make them as well. You could also do a tulle dress with a satin ribbon tie on the top. Very elegant! I'll try to find a pic of what I mean.

Hello and Welcome!! Thank you for all the sweet things you've said. I'll keep you in mind if I can't get what we're hoping for in about a year and would love to see pics. :)

Are you writing a PJ as well?
