Kouzzina - Tripadvisor Rating

I was really interested in going to this restaurant when I first heard that it was opening at the Boardwalk.

Me too. In fact, I booked ADRs for both breakfast and dinner on the very first day they were offered for my Sept/Oct trip, before the menus even came out.:rotfl: After reading some of the initial reviews, I got nervous and canceled my dinner, but kept the breakfast ADR. Breakfast was OK, but not worth a special trip over there for it. The sweet potato hash was very good, but the chef dumped way too much salt on the poached eggs. I couldn't even eat them. The bacon was good and crisp though.

I don't really pay that much attention to Trip Advisor or, for that matter, to the reviews on this site. If the menu looks good, I go try it for myself.
I did really like the whole fish there and I would give it a better rating than most people tend to.

Bingo! If it looks good, try it. If you don't like it, don't go back.

We had breakfast there on opening day and we both enjoyed it.
And genrally we do not use salt. So if something is over salty, I really notice it. And I did not notice anything being too salty. Everything was good for us.

Kouzzina isn't authentic greek food, it's an americanized version of it, according to friends who dined there this past week. We have an ADR for it in December, because my mother is determined to eat something that we've not tried at Disney. IMHO, some people will not venture to try new things. To stay with something familiar.

My friend told my family and I to try:

Kouzzina spreads
Pan roasted fish
Chocolate budino cake

I would not stray from a new restaurant because of the ratings, try it first then decide, IMHO.

We went last month for breakfast and dinner and really enjoyed it. The lobster stew was yummy!!! both hubby and I got it and we both really enjoyed it. For breakfast I got the feta/spinach omlete and it was yummy, too.

We didn't book ADR's here, but we stayed at the boardwalk, so figured if we felt like trying, we would drop in. I'm very glad we did and it will definately be a must do for us for dinner....just for the fishermans stew!!!!! We had a great waitress at dinner, as well as breakfast. We had been there as spoodles and had service that was not so good. We heard it was the same servers, so we were a little nervous. We lucked out both meals, though.

We went last Friday and we liked it. The food was flavorful and good. I had the seafood stew that was pictured above and I had to really force myself not to ask for a plate of bread to sop up the delicious gravy. DH had the veal shank (or was it lamb)-he liked it better than what he got a Citricos later in the week. Kids had the steak and thought it was slightly tough. We did not care for the chocolate cake dessert, but we don't like lava style cakes. The cookies were nice with the french press coffee, which was a nice break from the nescafe. We will go again.

We went in mid Sept., it was ok, but we won't be back. DH really liked the Fish Stew, but I hated the Flank Steak. It was brined, but way to salty for us to eat & we eat a lot of salt. Our server did not come around very often which was not good as I had a problem with the meal. The manager offered to serve me something else, but by that time dinner was long over.

The baklava was very good as was the pistachio ice cream.

One thing you have to take into consideration IMO is that Kouzzina is authentic Greek food (I'm not of Greek ancestry, so I maybe wrong on this) so it takes a little bit of an adventerous spirit to try it out. We skipped it because unfortunately my family is not very willing to try new flavors especially when at Disney world.

I think it's a bit early for it to really get a lot of consistent reviews.

I do like trip advisors simply for the fact it's not the Dis and I get more rounded reviews. Here it's made up of disney fanatics who tend to get annoyed if you dare say anthing negative aboout the mouse. I tend to take the reviews here with a grain of salt also.

:rotfl::lmao:So true. The way people rave about things and say "it is to die for", OMG "you Have to try this!!!" , etc. It all sounds too much like preteens.:rotfl2:

I think we're going to try it for our July trip. I just wanted to eat at an "Iron Chef's" restaurant. Is it only 1 ts credit?

Thanks.

My friend and had an excellent meal, and service last night. We will be going back when we return next year.

Yes, I do believe it is only 1 TS credit.

I just heard another dissatisfied customer who ate there recently on a podcast episode.

But, as others have said, if you really want to eat there, give it a try and decide for yourself.

We ate there our last trip I am not a big fan of greek food but DH loves greek food. We had a great experience my food was actually really good i was impressed, DH loved his food and dessert was good. This is one of the restaurants that we will go back to. Now I can see that most people don't really like greek food and the menu they offer is not the usual greek food that is offer in a typical greek restaurant so i think this is why it has a low review.

Do you recall what both of you ordered?

we ate there on our trip last week and it was fantastic. Both of us were thrilled with the lamb shank and my son enjoyed his steak.

The sample was also excellent - the lamb meatballs were on the spicy side (which we like) and extremely tasty. This place is a must for us for every trip from now on.

Actually, looking at the menu online, it seems to me that most of the items offered are pretty common to the Greek restaurants that I have visited. So, I'm not sure if that's why it rates low.

Again, I haven't eaten there so I can't give my opinion on the food.

Reading the all ears menu, the Kouzzina Sampler looks great. Do you have a picture?n Does anyone have a picture of it?

This is a tough one.... we were there last week, and pretty much everyone considered their dishes to be mediocre, except my brother, who loved the lamb burger. I tried many of them and have to agree (the chicken was pretty good). Even my girlfriend's seafood stew wasn't all that great.
At the same time, I had the whole fish (which was yellowtail snapper that night), and it was AWESOME. I want to go back just for that, but have to admit that the rest of my family has a point. My spanakopita was pretty good, however. Desserts were just okay.
