Kouzzina - Opinions and Pics

We were really excited to eat here until we saw the children's menu. I mean HELLO! What boring choices! I am not taking my child to a Greek restuarant to eat past and apple slices or baked fish GEESH!! Children do NOT need to be dumbed down. Oh Well, We have a great little Greek restuarant here in indy that we go to that is authentic that they love. We will keep our ressies at Sanaa- they have a little broader of a range- even if they seem to have iffy reviews. Maybe my hubby and I will go to Kouzzina next Nov. on our Mommy Daddy trip.

to person wondering what time they start serving dinner...can tell you on Labor Day weekend (Saturday 9/5) they start serving dinner at 4:00 p.m.

Don't know if that will be the permanent schedule, but the CM indicated that's the schedule showing on their restaurant information.

going in Oct and tried to make ressies for dinner but weren't taking them as of yet. but after reading menus with so much Med. food glad i didn't get one.

um, i hate to point out the obvious..but it's a Greek restaurant? I would hope it Mediterranean food? lol

We called yesterday and got dinner ressies for Nov. with no problem...I don't think the childrens menu is that bad...fish is a choice and that is very good for kids...and it really is not much different from any other disney rest. so no big deal and kids can always sample mom and dads along with their own...we will let everyone know how it is when we get back. :woohoo:

I called today and there was no availability Nov 19 to 22. The res agent said that did not look right but offered no help. There is no link currently to book online. Any ideas?

Call back and ask another CM. I had an agent tell me the same thing last week. When I called back all of these times "magically" opened within the span of an hour.

We ate at Kouzzina's the other night and loved it. We were big Spoodle fans and were able to get ADRs on our check-in day for a few days later for the soft opening. The lasgna is wonderful. It has a great cinnamon flavor. All of the meal choices for our group were really great. Would not hesitate to go back again and we will on our next trip. Would highly recommend this place. The interior is more open than Spoodles and they have changed the color scheme. The nice thing is that they have closed off the pizza window area so it gives the restaurant a cleaner look. The pizza window is still open though.

When I first tried to make a reservation at Kouzzinas for Nov. 2 the CM said there was nothing available. I thought that was odd because at that point is was over 90 days out. I called back the next morning and got the reservation without a problem. Try again it might work.

we went here yesterday.

sangria - we ordered the pitcher. pricey but got 4 good sized drinks.

App - we ordered the spreads to split. Not enough pita but server brought over more bread. Hummus was chunky and very flavorful, as was the kalamata. The 3rd was a spicy yogurt spread. very good.

Entree - dh ordered the stew. It was very good. could have had less shrimp and perhaps an additional scallop or 2.
DD ordered the whole fish. it is a whole snapper delivered to the table and it was delicious. Note this entree is not for the faint of heart. I think she has been watching Andrew Zimmerman too much. She ate the whole thing including the eyeballs cheeks and tail.
I had the flank and it was wonderful - nicely seasoned.
Deserts were good too, the greek doughnuts were unusual, the vanilla prailine ice cream very good. Oh, try the press pot coffee - strong and yummy.

If we did not have the deluxe plan next week we would return. We were not rushed. Overall a great experience.

She really ate the eyeballs? :scared1:

I'm glad the kids menu is not "unusual", this gives me a chance to eat their with my picky children ;)

I guess it wouldn't hurt to have at least one Med. dish for the more adventurous kid though!

Looking forward to trying it next month!!

While the kids entrees are the same as most disney TS restaurants I do remember finding online that that the kids could get stuff like the orzo and sweet potato fries as the sides with their meals. Someone posted on all ears Kids fish on a bed of orzo A grilled chicken breast with sweet potato fries along with the regular cheese pizza and the pasta. So it sounds like they may have the option of being slightly adventueous if they so choose.

Yes, she did. First thing. She didn't even hesitate. She said "cheers" and popped it in her mouth.
Offered 2nd to dh who declined. Then she gobblled that one down also.

Wow. I don't know that I could have watched that and still have eaten my food. She's quite brave!!

Not a fan of Greek Food, so I will avoid this resteraunt...doesn't agree with my Digestive System....:headache: Prices are a bit too much for Greek food also.:sad2:

We have a wonderful chain of Greek restaurants around here called "It's Greek to Me." Very authentic!

Two of my favorite things to order are the saganaki cheese dish and gigante beans. The beans look and sound weird, but let me tell you--they are delicious! They are roasted with carrots and leaf lettuce which forms a pita bread dipping sauce with the olive oil in the dish. It may sound odd, but I'd recommend the "It's Greek to Me" version to anyone. I would expect Cat Cora's version to be just as good.
