Yesterday I was killing time after one meeting and before another and wandering around in Lake Buena Vista. I found a fairly new restaurant, The Lower East Side, which indicates by its signage that it serves Glatt Kosher, Halal and Hindu foods. The address is 8548 Palm Parkway and the phone is 407-465-0565.

The Lower East Side has actually been there for years. We eat there at least once or twice per trip. The food is homestyle kosher (jewish and Israeli) and is very, very good. The prices are consistent with kosher restaurants in most large American cities, which is more expensive than similar non-kosher food. However, the portions are HUGE.

The restaurant lacks ambience...It's table service but the tables are much more like counter service. The staff is friendly, but the service is sometimes slow, other times speedy.

They also offer take-out and complete packaged meals for Sabbath.

It's a decent option for the kosher traveler. I found it pricey for not great food, but - yes, it will fill you up. I like to support the kosher food in the parks , in the hope that the quality and options in the future will be expanded and enhanced, but a freshly cooked meal is needed at some point!
