Konnichiwa from Tokyo Disneyland!

Ohhh! My daughter and I are just loving your report.
She will be teaching at Toyko University for one year starting in July.
I'm excited to visit her, and of course, we'll have to see Disney.
From my daughter, chou omoshirokatta desu yo! arigatou!

This Trip Report is so much fun! Wow, I would really love to experience TDS. I saw it on the Travel Channel and it looked like my kind of place. I will be there one day but until then I will enjoy it through you and your husband's eyes. Enjoy the rest of your trip and I can't wait to read more. I am very interested in trying the popcorn:: over there! It sounds sooooo good!

We were SO beat when we came home Wednesday and Thursday night! I will have the trip reports from those two days up soon. I have a TON of stuff to write about DisneySea - the place is probably the most amazing Disney park I have been to. Last night when we were leaving I was seriously mourning that it may be years until I can see it again.

t is 9:45am Friday here in Japan and we check out of our hotel and are moving to Shinjuku next. We will be spending the next 4 days there visiting with friends, seeing the sites and hopefully eating too much sushi. If anyone is interested I can report on that too.

OH, I do have a ton of pictures - probably too many to post in my trip report but can put up the link to my flickr page and my husbands if anyone would like to see them all.

For now this one photo of a sign at the American Waterfront in DisneySea that amused me greatly:

Great trip report! I'd love to hear about your entire Japanese vacation. I have dreams that one of the benefits of only having 1 child will be that I'm able to afford to take her to Tokyo Disney....sounds great!

Thanks so much for this TR. I am eagerly awaiting more since I will be there in just about a week!! I am a popcorn fiend so please tell more ;) How much were the buckets?

Hi! I hope I caught you before your trip! I was waiting for the OP to reply and time got away from me:) . A couple of TDL/TDS popcorn tips:
The buckets and popcorn flavors are themed to a specific popcorn cart. Another cart, even in the same land, may have a different bucket design and flavor of popcorn - Winnie the Pooh had honey pot themed buckets, the Dumbo area cart had a general TDL bucket, and the cart near POC had Princess themed buckets (the top looks like a tiara) when we were there. They do change the bucket designs. So, be sure to choose a bucket design you like before choosing your popcorn vendor if the design is important to you or your child. Also, be sure to get a strap - it really makes carrying the popcorn convenient!
Once your bucket is empty you can get it refilled at any of the TDL/TDS popcorn carts for a small charge. TDL, TDS, and even old buckets from previous years can be brought to either theme park for refills. You do not need to buy a new bucket at each park. The buckets are really large and you can snack on one bucket of popcorn ALL DAY if you are so inclined! Our littlest daughter does!! Have fun!popcorn::
Also, can't wait to read more of your trip report OP! It makes me miss TDL/TDS so much!

Great trip report, have never been to tdl but its on my list of things to do in my lifetime!! The picturs are great , love the idea of little parking spaces for stollers, that ssmething wdw could with as there system is a mess,

Look forward to hearing more about your time in Japan

Hi Jemiaule!
I just found your Tokyo report! I've enjoyed reading about your experiences there being a blond American. It's amazing how much you stick out! I lived in Yokohama as a teenager but Disneyland Tokyo wasn't built yet. Did you find that the Japanese wanted to speak English with you and your husband? Keep writing! Can't wait to hear more!!
