I bet that Universal is now sorry they destroyed the Kongfrontation attraction. What great advertising it would have been for the release of their new film, the re-make of "King Kong". Universal goofed but good!

Im sure Universal was well aware of the movie coming out when they closed Kongfrontation, but honestly, I think the movie ape and other things will look so much different than the ride that it may have been part of the reason for its closing.

Besides, we still don't know if Peter Jackson's name will bring in people to the theaters for a movie that's plot is the same as the previous 2 versions. Moviegoers seem to be very picky this year.

I agree with Chris... They were probably in pre-production when the decision was made to replace Kong. The ride was outdated and needed an overhaul.

Well, they are selling Kong film merchandise in the Mummy gift shop!

Anyone play the game? I want a new Kong attraction based around Skull Island. Forget NY.

I was one of the fifty first place winners in the Kong Kontest #1. I received a letter with a pair of Kong hands that make noise. I'll have to wear them to the movie!

I think Kongfrontation was okay, but at the end it had become outdated and needed replacing.

when did they close this? When I was there I don't remember seeing it. I will miss it though. They really should just update it and bring it back.

Think it was about 3 years ago.

mother fletcher......WOO HOO.........you were the winner!!

i miss the banana breath part of the ride...........

well, kong is gone but now we have the mummy in its place.
not a bad trade off

I can't wait for the movie. I want to see the giant slug get ahead!

We loved the Kong ride and wish they could have kept it, even if they had to update it. With all the movies they make, every generation knows Kong and it is a classic. Love Universal parks, but they made a mistake.

They keep Twister and Earthquake and dumped Kong. I was told it was because Kong broke down all the time etc, but I still think they should have been able to resolve the problems and kept it.

Anyone know what happened to that King Kong prop they had at the exit where you could take pictures as if Kong was holding you? It would be great if Universal put this prop somewhere so that guests can take pictures with it. Has this been brought up? Do any of you US employees know? Thanks!!!

i think they should have ditched earthquake instead. kongfrontation was a far more enjoyable ride, have you ever noticed all those bored looking faces as people get off earthquake???
