Kona or O'Hana's?

We have eaten at O'Hana's (old menu) and loved it, but never at Kona. We currently have an ADR for O'Hanna's for our 20th Ann. dinner, but since we have never eaten at Kona, am thinking about switching. DH is getting his way of Chef's deFrance over Le Cellier, so he said I can choose between O'Hana and Kona. I think Kona will have better choices for our kids, and to be honest, if not on freDDP, would not be able to afford either, really...maybe O'Hana, but it was a splurge last trip. I am also worried about the wait to get into O'Hana's again...even withan ADR, we waited 50 minutes last time. Is Kona's quicker? We don't usually do "fancy" for our anniversary so that is not an issue, just good food, and low wait, good service. Plus, we are thinking of an early ADR, and then heading over to AK evening EMH, want to try EE at night...I think Kona would be quicker...anyone else?

Thanks,

Kona!!! The food at Kona is amazing, each course is better than the one before and the desserts are the BEST!

I personally like Ohana better. It's more fun, especially if you are in the main dining room and can watch the races. Kona is nothing extraordinary, in my opinion. Ohana gives you more food, so it really depends on how hungry you are. You could make reservations for both. (one under your name, and the other under your husband's) Also, it might be fun to order a cake out from one of the bakeries. We allways do this when celebrating a special event.

That to me does not seem fair to other people who need a ressie.....JMHO

The Kona Cafe is our favorite restaurant in all of WDW and I think you should give it a try! We like O'hana also, but since you have already been there, try the Kona this time. You won't be disappointed. :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

KONA!!!!!

We tried both for the 1st time last week. We enjoyed all aspects of the entertainment at 'Ohana (our two kids have fun doing the hula, coconut races, limbo, maraccas), but the food and desserts at Kona were spectacular. We paid for our meals out of pocket, so only tried each one once. If we were on the meal plan, would DEFINITELY have gone back to Kona again -- plenty of excellent choices for DH and I and our kids could not stop talking about that kiddie cone dessert.

'Ohana is worth trying once -- but everyone should go to Kona twice. I've read many posts where people said they'd eaten in many more places than we did, and wrote that Kona was their favorite (or in top 2 or 3). Can see why.

WOW! Looks like Kona it is! (If I can switch it with O'Hanna!) Wish me luck! Oh, and do you think it will be quicker than O'Hana's?
