Kona or Ohana?

I'll vote for Kona as being better without question.

But they are very different dining experiences and I expect a lot of votes on both sides.

Apparently 'Ohana is supposed to be the Polynesian's primary restaurant and Kona just a cafe. But it's such a GOOD cafe!

These are two of our favorite restaurants. We always eat at both. Kona for breakfast (must have the Tonga Toast and pressed pot) and then Ohana for dinner!

I agree with erikthewise; but I vote for The Kona Cafe, which is one of our favorites.

My vote would be Kona, but a "menu" restaurant just suits my taste better. Kona's food is really good and I like to be able to order what I want rather than just have a family style meal.

O'Hana has never interested me. It seems very limited, if you do'nt care for the food there, you are relaly stuck. Kona has delicious food, and we've alwawys had good service there.

Why limit yourself to one? We do both every trip. Both are completely different experiences.

We have eaten at both.
Kona is my favorite sit down in all of WDW but we had a great time at Ohana.
we had a table right by the window and got to watch Wishes while we ate.
The food at Ohana's is not as good as Kona but if you have kids they would like Ohana's better, with its kids games they play.
Regardless save time for a tropical drink at the bar outside the restarants, they make a great Mai Tai :rotfl:

If you have children then O'Hana is a can't miss. Kona is nice for adults. The food is very good.

I love Kona. Ohana is good and even better with a window view during Wishes. But I also think Kona has a better menu.

don't know about now since the new menu but imo the main food( meat and such) at Ohana's was not very good, i like med rare steak and it was all shoe leather well done, the rest dry and our server wasn't around enough to get anything better. i loved the wings and salad but that was the only really good food imo

Kona's is better food...

if you are going with kids, Ohana's would be more interesting for them, adults only stick to Kona

Another vote for Kona. Love the food and the atmosphere. We had a great waitress and just had a wonderful experience. We ate at Ohana but you get so involved with the activities that you don't really get to enjoy the food.

I have an ADR for Ohana on @ 5 pm. I decided on this because of my 8 yo dd. I have heard they are very interactive with the kids, but will my timing of the ADR be ok? I did not know if they typically get busy later and save all the fun for busy times. HELP?

We thought Ohana was very bad -- worst meal of our trip last month. Our 9-year-old had fun with the hula hooping -- but beware there are not enough hula hoops for all the kids who want to do it. Our 9-year-old had to wait through several songs to get his chance. We had an ADR time of 8:30 p.m. We happened to see Wishes -- didn't plan it. Seeing the fireworks didn't begin to make up for the food. Also, our 9-year-old had missed the coconut races by that time. Don't know when they start.

The food was of such poor quality, we wouldn't go back there if they were giving the food -- plus solid gold hula hoops -- away for free!

I haven't tried O'Hana yet, but I LOVE Kona Cafe for dinner. The crabcakes and filet were wonderful - and don't get me started on all the fabulous desserts!
