DH and I will be going to Disney July 16-20, and have the dining plan. So far, I have booked:

Sunday, July 16 (arrive and spend day at MGM)
Mama Melrose 6:00pm/ Fantasmic show

Monday, July 17 (Animal Kingdom, & possibly back to MGM or DTD)

Tuesday, July 18 (Magic Kingdom)

Wednesday, July 19 (Epcot)
LeCellier 6:30pm

Thursday, July 20 (Go to Any Parks We May Have Missed, DTD, Depart)
Chef Mickey's 10:20am

We have one more Table Service left that I have not made reservations for. We will use it either Monday night or Tuesday night. I think I would rather use it on Monday, and just do CS while at the Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. Or I guess making two reservations would always be an option, and just pay OOP for one.

Anyways, I have been looking at Kona, Grand Floridian Cafe, or 50's Prime Time Cafe. What would you all suggest? I love the idea of trying something totally different for us (Kona), the atmosphere at Grand Floridian sounds nice (but would we have to dress up for the cafe?), and I love the look of the 50's diner. DH is kind of picky, which concerns me about Kona, but I know he could always eat steak at Kona.

Any suggestions??

I can't comment on the other two, but I really enjoyed Prime Time. I found the food to be just okay, but the fun definitely makes up for it. If you like to play along and have a laugh, this place is great. I think everyone should try it at least once. It is definitley experience and I always recommend it. :)

I have eaten at all 3 of these many times and my favorite would have to be Boma, hands down.
I would go to Boma on Monday night after your day at AK. Be sure to leave time to explore the beautiful lodge and the excellent gift shop.

Maybe I should start a different thread for this, but what exactly is the "show" with the 50's Prime Time ?

Ok since tuesday is your MK day I would go with Kona. It is a short monorail ride away and then you could head back to the park after dinner if you wanted to. This is our new favorite restaurant. The food was delicious and we have done almost all the restaurants at disney. The GF Cafe was ok the setting is nice and the service was good but the food was just average I would say. It didn't blow me away. And 50's is more for the atmosphere- the food is very heavy(meatloaf/ fried chicken kind of food) so if you are going to be near MGM and are into that kind of food then try it.(we are always at disney in the summer and if we eat at the Prime time we are done for the day- it is just too heavy with the heat of that July Sun!
So my vote KONA! :cheer2: (get the Macadamia Mahi Mahi it is AMAZING and the Steak Teriyaki is my DH's Favorite!)

I wouldn't call it a show- the waiters and waitresses are your "cousins" and there is a "Mom" floating around too. They demand that you eat all your veggies, clean your plate ect.... If you don't they WILL embarrass you. They fed my 21 year old brother his green beans doing the airplane.....(you get the picture)
