I am confusing myself so much. We are going in less than 3 weeks and I just found out that my SIL can babysit our nearly 3 year old one evening. The best night for us would be Tuesday of that week, the day we are planning on staying close to the resort and relaxing. We are staying at the Poly and I pictured maybe we could walk down the beach path to the GF and eat at Narcoosees. Well, the menu really doesn't do anything for me. So, here are my thoughts....

Right now we have Tuesday morning ADRs for Kona and Friday morning for WC Cafe.

*Would you do Tuesday night dinner at Kona? I wanted to try it for dinner (had a tough time deciding between breakfast and dinner there), but then we would have breakfast and dinner at the same place on the same day. Maybe that's okay? Then we could walk around afterwards.

*Don't go to Kona for breakfast that day, just dinner. We can get Tonga Toast at Captain Cook's now. We could go to GF Cafe for breakfast that day...or whatever.

*Would you do dinner at GF Cafe that night (we could walk the path together), having had breakfast at Kona?

*Another idea was to switch Kona and WC Cafe, but I didn't want to have to get over to WC Cafe on our "day off".

* Go to Kona for breakfast on Friday (do GF Cafe or Captain Cook's on Tuesday) and skip WC Cafe completely.

Aaack! See?

Thanks so much!

I've never been to WCC but have been to the other two. Definitely go to Kona for dinner somehow. It was very good! GF Cafe we went to for lunch and it was good, but nothing special to me. I would try to switch your breakfasts around if possible. If not, just do Kona for both in the same day. They're completely different meals so it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Thanks Minnie!

Anyone else?

Our other ADRs are for Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch), Mama Melrose (lunch), Boma (dinner), and Biergarten (lunch).

If it is just you and Dh,, Kona would not be my choice unless you are looking for something really casual.

If you are staying at poly you can monorail to CG which is superb or AP at WL if you are looking for something more upscale.

If not, I would go to DTD and stroll around there and eat there as well

I understand you want to stay close so maybe a dinner with short ride on monorail is doable.

I would not eat at Kona twice.

:lmao:

Hey,
I would NOT choose WCC. It is a great spot for fun and the food is pretty darn good too but, for just the two of you, NO.
If you want to stay close, maybe Kona for dinner or Artist Point at WL would be very nice, you should check out the menu.

Good luck

Hmmmm.....I had thought of Artist Point and California Grill, but dismissed them for some reason. I'll check them out again! I might have passed on Artist Point because it's tougher to get to, but I could see taking the monorail to CG.

And don't worry, Pirate at Heart, we are signed up for WCC for breakfast on Friday and I wondered if we should just cancel that and move our Kona breakfast to Friday so that we wouldn't have Kona twice in one day. "Whispering" that place is not!

So far, it seems like y'all are saying Kona or AP or CG, but not Grand Floridian Cafe, for the dinner for two. As for breakfast, however I want to rearrange that would be fine, just don't do Kona twice in one day.

Thanks so far everyone!

When we stayed at the Poly, I just about lived at the Kona cafe.

The breakfast is so different from the dinner. Really good meals:banana:

I didn't know they started serving tonga toast at Captain Cooks! Ah the things I learn here on the dis...:)

I've had lunch at the GF Cafe, but not dinner, so no help there.

I could see myself having 2 meals at Kona Cafe, because I have. Both really good and really different. Then there is the Poly beach for a nice romantic walk.... and still be within dashing distance of the kids....:cloud9:

We loved Kona's and cant wait to eat there on our next trip!!
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

It isn't tooooo bad to get to WL from the Poly. Just take the monorail to MK, then hop on the boat to the WL. It will take awhile, but it is a nice trip. :)
