I was wondering if it is good? Please tell me about it. We might go there for our first meal.

I love there breakfast. Never ate there for dinner but my parents do everytime they love it.

Yeah, best breakfast I ever ate on vacation, frankly. Then again, I was alone and my waitress was flirting with me pretty heavily. For the tip, we can all safely presume. Maybe that "flavoured" my meal for me.

I can't say anything about for lunch or dinner, although its open air (well, WITHIN the hotel, but still) design doesn't make it seem like an honest to zeus dinner place to me.

I have been for dinner twice and enjoyed it very much both times.
As the PP stated it is open to the Lobby area, which can be noisy. It is certainly not the most quiet and romantic restaurant at WDW, but it is certainly appropriate for a nice dinner.
It is a pretty space, with nice servers and good food.
I will go again.
Have a Great Trip

Breakfast at the Kona Cafe is WONDERFUL! If you are a big coffee drinker, get a french press pot of Kona coffee...we had to get two b/c it was SOOO good! Also, the Tonga Toast is always a must in our family, as well as the Macadamia nut pancakes...oh, my! I'm really hungry now! :rotfl2: We didn't have dinner there, but it was always full when we walked by.

Thank you everyone. I did think about the openness. But we won't be going into the parks until the next day. Out first day will be a sea world day.

My family has eaten dinner at Kona several times, and will try lunch there on our upcoming trip. I really like this restaurant. We have always had good food and service. I would like to eat here for breakfast some time too, as that Tonga Toast is calling my name.

We have eaten dinner there every trip and it's always a very good meal. Not as good as Le Cellier, but good nonetheless. The bread is delicious!!

We'll try breakfast there next time as DH loves Tonga Toast (I like it fine enough) and we usually get it at Captain Cook's.

We enjoy both their breakfast and their dinner.

Kona is one of our favorite restaurants on property.

Kona is AWESOME for dinner! Here are some pictures from our dinner back in May:

We loved it so much that we plan to go back again this May!

We have stayed at the Poly a couple times and have been lucky enough to have breakfast, lunch and dinner several times over the years. I have not had a bad meal there ever!(service can be sketchy:rolleyes: ) Here are my faves:
Our family 'tradition' when we stay at the Poly is to have our 'kick off our vacation lunch' after we check in. I always had the BBQ pork sandwhich with sweet potato chips. I was looking at the menu and it seems like they have replaced it with a BBQ pork taco. YUM: I also have one Wasabi Bloody Mary.;)

Breakfast: Tonga Toast or the Macadamia Pineapple pancakes with a pot of the Kona Coffee French Press Pot.

Dinner:
Pot Stickers - wok-seared duck dumplings with creamy ginger soy sauce.
Sticky Wings - glazed chicken wings wings with a tangy mustard drizzle and toasted sesame seeds.
We have tried several different entrees *chicken, steak, mahi-mahi)and they have ALL been delicious too.

:thumbsup2

The food is great but the atomsphere and service can be spotty at times.

The Shrimp and Curry soup is amazing as is the teriyaki steak with pineapple (served with some of the best mashed potatoes) and real vegetables!

Breakfast is also good but if you're looking for Tonga toast, I prefer to pay less and just get it downstairs at Capt Cooks.

We loved the food there, we had the wings, the Macadamia crusted chicken thing and the Terriaki steak (not sure if they are called that but that's what it was) the bread is yummy and the mashed potatoes are sooo good. It was one of our favorite places. :)

One of the best meals of our trip!!! We ate dinner there I had the shrimp and scallops (3 of each) with sticky rice and some veggie I didn't eat LOL. My DH had the Tuna Oscar - served with fried green tomatoes, tempura-fried jumbo lump crab, and wasabi hollandaise. My DS had the Coconut Almond Chicken. We all had the Creme Brulee for dessert. OMG so yummy!!!

It is great for dinner - we have had dinner there a few times and hope to do so again in May. It can be a bit loud, but the food is delicious.
