Hi, i love Kona but haven't been there in a few years. Their online menu doesn't show their teryaki steak.. does anyone know if it is there or not? Also, is bread and butter only at dinner or can you get it at lunch also?
Thanks! We are also considering Grand Floridian Cafe.. anything good there?

The teryaki steak is no longer on the menu. We used to like dinner there but the last 2 years it hasn't been good and the service has been lackluster. The best thing on the menu is the bread and nut butter. I don't think that Floridian Cafe is all that great either. We have eaten there in the past the restaurant is really nice but the food wasn't great. We may have hit both places on an off night but 2 years in a row and both restaurants weren't great.

oh what a shame, i really loved that steak. I see they have the teriyaki steak strips for lunch, but i dont think DD would want me to tear her away from her pool time at GF.

... then again, that just saves me money.. i can get stickey wings for $9 and fill up on bread and butter! it could be a good thing. i always want both the wings and steak but paying out of pocket would be a lot for both, so it just helps me decide!

Ive only done Kona for breakfast, but we've eaten dinner at GFC and enjoyed it. The burger with lobster was our favorite

If it's on the lunch menu you could might be able to ask them to make it for you for dinner, especially if you call ahead and ask if it's possible. My husband went nuts over those wings! He was supposed to share it with my sister as an appetizer and NOPE that didn't happen lol!

Sounds like an excellent plan. A couple of the excellent appetizers, multiple loaves of the amazing bread and a Kona Kone for dessert.

exactly! one of the times we ate there for dinner, i did get that glorious teryaki steak but DH and i kept eating that bread and butter like it was air.. then as we were leaving i realized that we had each eaten a whole loaf!! crazy good!

That's likely not going to happen. I go to Kona for the Teriyaki Steak (last had it in 2012 and loved it also the Chef at the time was awesome). DBF took me there for dinner towards the end of 2014 and the new Chef would not make it for me no matter what. (Mind you I also have allergies and he was a complete jerk about it, acting aloof and like I was inconveniencing him in some way or another). And yes I can eat the Teriyaki Steak with my allergies so that's not the reason he wouldn't make it for me.

He will only make the NY Strip with molasses bacon butter and fingerling potatoes/veggies. I gave in and allowed him to make me that attuned with my allergy restrictions, he also made one for my DBF and well warning we both got food poisoning. So unless you can go at lunch and hope to get the Teriyaki Steak then, it's sadly not going to happen.
