We are staying at the poly and doing the meal plan and want to eat at one of these places for our sit down choice. Which one is better??

Ohanas is a big "meat" feast and is family style meal, you just get the 1 dinner or breakfast. Konas is the resturant with asian flair and great desserts. You get to order what you want. Don't forget to try the Koko puffs! Check out the chocolate sculpture in kona's desert table, beauitful.

havent been to konas..but have been to ohanas and we LOVED IT...we are going there in a few weeks again...cant wait..the food is wonderful...the sides you get are yumtastic...you get salad...fried rice..wontons..green beans...chicken wings...and coconut bread......and the sauces for your meat is delish....my mouth is watering already....the atmosphere also is great....ohanas is one of those places i dont think you can go wrong in.....

Been to both, love both. 'Ohana is more of an event. There are games for the kids, a singer with a ukelele, and it's all you can eat. There are 4 different meats they offer you, wontons, rice, salad, veggies, chicken wings...it's very, very tasty, and you may get a table with a view of the castle. If your kids are picky, they can order a hot dog, chicken strips or mac and cheese from the Kona kid's menu.

Kona is great for a more low key, but equally as tasty dinner. It is a standard sit down restaurant with a menu, not all you can eat. I had the prime rib one night (with an Asian marinade) and my mom had scallops and shrimp. The next time we ate there (5 nights later- we really liked the food!) I had veggie spring rolls and mom had a chicken stir fry. It is not a fancy restaurant, kind of an open air cafe almost, but friendly service and a nice atmosphere. You can view the menu for both at www.allearsnet.com. Look under dining and then under resorts for the Poly.

We were very impressed with Kona Cafe on our last trip. My kids especially loved the chocolate statue of Stitch and still keep asking me if it's really made of chocolate months after the fact. The food was really good, and the restaurant was very relaxing and casual.

We really enjoy both and have never had a bad meal at either. Kona used to be my favorite restaurant until I tried Ohana and now I cant really pick 1 over the other.
I think a lot depends what you are in the mood for. If you prefer an all you can eat meal, with a set menu, and fun & games, then Ohana is it. If you would prefer a more relaxed/less busy meal with your choice of food off a regular menu, then go for Kona.
Either way, I dont think you can go wrong. :D

We love Kona for B,L and D. We have only tried Ohana for breakfast years ago.

But assuming you mean for dinner, I think you will get more bang for your buck with Kona. The price at Ohana already includes everything except alcohol and extra desserts. At Kona, you could order a great appetizer, entree and dessert for a higher total than the all inclusive price of Ohana.

Much better selection too.

Since you're staying at the Poly, why not try both? :) I've had dinner at 'Ohana and b-fast several times at Kona and they were both excellent! -Steph
