Kona Cafe for lunch???

Hi everyone, DH and I are going down with my brother, sis-in-law, nephew, and my dad for free dining Sept 13-18 staying at POR then DH and I are going offsite till the 21st to visit Universal. We booked our trip in May, and have been dealing with trying to get ADR's at the places we want ever since. My husband and I added on the 18th as MK day, as we were originally going to do BB or TL that day and then drive to check in at our other hotel, but decided to do TL one moring/afternoon during the week and have one park day by ourselves after the rest of the family left. I really wanted to eat at Ohanas this trip but sadly, couldn't get a reservation. I also tried WCC, Spoodles, and Chef Mickeys. I just called and spoke to a really nice gentleman who got me a 2:35 lunch at Kona's! We are going to get up on the 18th, check out of POR, get our rental car and drive to MK. We will hit some rides, then take the monorail over to the Polynesian for our nice lunch together. I can't wait to try a lapu lapu. This is my first time eating here, and I have read wonderful things about their dinner, but how about their lunch? Does anyone have any info? Thanks!

We had lunch at Kona a couple of weeks ago and loved it! I wrote about it on a food review thread and posted some pictures of our food here

And, my kids are STILL talking about their Kona Kones!

If you enjoy your lunch at Kona as much as we enjoyed ours, then you'll be wanting to eat lunch there again sometime.

Hey, thanks for the post! You know it's funny, just a few days ago, I read your dining review and loved it! I had completely forgotten about it though, so thanks for sending the link so I could see the pics! Everything looks really delicous, and I can't wait to try it out!! I am definately getting a Lapu lapu, and the sticky wings, and I plan on getting the plate that your husband got only with the teriyaki steak! Thanks so much, and now I am officially looking forward to it and thinking it is a wonderful decision to have lunch there!

I would eat every sit down meal I eat at Disney at Kona if I could.......to me by far the best Disney has to offer in dining..........lunch or dinner..........

...and what's nice about Kona is that you can typically get a table there without an ADR. We've eaten there many times and have never had to wait longer than 30 minutes to be seated, regardless of season.
