Hi Everyone!

Trying to decide which one of these three (Kona Cafe, Boma, or Boatwrights) we want to have dinner at during our December trip. I would appreciate any feedback AND pictures that you have of the food at these places! And tell me what the food item is =)

Thank you so much!

Can't show you any picture but I highly recommend Kona's I alwasy make an ADR for at least one meal or two. As for Boatright' is very good if you like cajun food. I can't tell you about Bomba as I never ate there does not appeal to me. Beside I don't like AKL. I'm sure someone will come along with pictures.

We have never done Kona's; we are trying Boma's for the first time on our upcoming September trip and as for Boatwright's--it was the worse meal we had on our trip last year (if you look through tonight's threads, you'll see several of us did not like it).

I've never tried Boma or Boatwright's but I HAVE eaten at Kona. It's really good! I had the Teriyaki Steak with pineapple and it was awesome. They also have this really delicious bread with macadamia nut butter, melt in your mouth delicious!!! Desserts there are incredible too. We liked it for the food and the amotsphere, the Polynesian is awesome! HTH! :goodvibes

Ooooh, I almost forgot, the sticky wings are delish at Kona too! :thumbsup2

Are you staying at POR? I wouldn't go to Boatwright's unless you are. Not worth it. Kona gets a lot of hight marks here on the Dis, but my family did not care for it. It's very open atmosphere, felt like I was eating in a food court. My Dad and DH liked there steaks, My Mom and I did not like pork chop at all........we were seated right behind the hostess stand and so we had to listen to that the entire meal.
LOOOOOve Boma!

We LOVE Boma. We almost cancelled our ADR on our last trip because we were so tired. We were all so glad we went.

First, we loved AKL. The lobby ... the animals... everything. So much so that we want to stay there next time, even though AKL is kind of out of the way.

The food was great -- by far the best buffet we've been to. And there were so many choices. Lots of soups, salads and desserts in addition to the entrees. And plenty of "saftey" foods in case someone is picky.

The restaurant itself is quite pretty, and the buffet is built in "pods" that are much more attractive than the standard buffet line.

Just my 2 cents...

Have a great trip!

Kona Cafe was wonderful.....dh had the coconut almond chicken, which was so good that I'm going to make it here at home! We were also able to get the virgin pina colada/strawberry dacq. mixture as part of our dining plan...YUM!!!!!!!!

We've eaten at all three of these restaurants. I agree with the previous poster who said that Boatwright's was not worth the trip. The food was mediocre and the atmosphere wasn't anything special. We liked both Kona and Boma and would do either of them again but both of them haave minor drawbacks. Kona was quite loud and as one poster said it can seem more like a foodcourt. It is open to the lobby and noise tend to drift up. On the other hand, our filets and Lapu Lapus were great! The food at Boma was interesting and plentiful and the hotel has a lot of atmopsphere. For us it's just not as relaxing when you have to keep getting up and down to serve yourself different courses. Bottom line though is that we would go back again to both of these but not to Boatwright's.

I have pics of Kona breakfast and Boma breakfast from our April trip in my signature and Kona dinner from Oct in my signature.

All three meals were great

Can't provide any pics, but can give an opinion on two of your choices. We've only eaten at Kona and Boma out of the three and both are excellent. But if we had to pick one over the other, it would definitely be Kona :cool1:. Kona has prime rib and filet that are out of this world  . Boma is also very good but is also a different kind of restaurant. I guess it would depend on whether you're looking for an "order-off-the-menu" kind of meal or a buffet (don't know what Boatwright's is as we've never eaten there) :confused3. But IMO, Boma and Kona are both great choices :).

Wow! Thank yall so much for your opinions... Looks like we're going to rule out Boatwright's.... So, now it's down to Kona or Boma! And now I'm even considering Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club (formerly called something else?)...

Any opinions about that one?

Hi Courtney!
Go to Kona. You will NOT regret it. I just posted a bunch of pics from our last trip on the food thread. It's around page 130.

We love both Boma and Kona Cafe.

Boma has a wonderful variety of nicely spiced African dishes and it is definitely a bit out of the ordinary. Also has the advantage if you are big eaters with the all you can eat buffet.

Kona Cafe has excellent quality food and friendly service.

Tough to choose between the resorts as both are beautiful but the Polynesian has the advantage of being able to catch the Electric Water Pageant or Wishes from the beach after dinner as well as being easy to get to on the monorail.

We have eaten at all three and they are all very good. Boma is our favorite buffet restaurant at WDW. We ate at Kona & Boatwrights last Dec. and they were both very good.

Thank yall SO much! (PS- Hi Joyce!)

I think we've decided on Kona, and are SUPER excited about it!!!
