Kohl's or mom & pop for sneakers?

I dont know how correct this statement was but I talked to a older gentleman who ran a store that fit the shoe to your foot. He said that unless you had a specify problem with your foot, you should find a shoe that can work without an insert.

I agree that stores that fit your foot go to a lot of trouble. However, I went to two places that fit my foot before I found the right fit. The first store wanted to fit my foot with a shoe and an insert. It was very awkward to stand let alone run. The next place fit my foot with a shoe only.

I just asked a question about shoes and orthotics recently! This past weekend I went to a running store to figure out what kind of shoe I needed, and they were very helpful. (much better than the other types of stores!)
I ended up buying a very comfy pair of Ascics (Gel Nimbus) for $125 plus tax. :scared1: Sounds like a lot, but if it will save me from another foot fracture and more pain, I'm willing to pay for it!
Good luck! Running stores are really great help. They understand feet...and you can always take the info they give you, and try to find it cheaper elsewhere.
