Kohl's Cash and % off???

My Kohl's store wouldn't combine my 15% off coupon and my Kohl's cash yesterday.

I thought that I have done that in the past with no issue. I bought sheets and the 15% off got voided when the cashier used my Kohls cash. She then restored my Kohls cash and took the 15% off and the people behind me in line were gettin' impatient!!!!

Has this always been how they do the discount/cash??

I used both a 30% off coupon and $40 in Kohl's cash on 4/20 in Illinois with no problems. The only thing I didn't realize is they deduct the Kohl's cash from your total before applying your % off coupon.

I used a 20% off and $20 worth of Kohls' cash last weekend, with no problem.

The lady that did mine last weekend took the 20% off before she did my Kohl's cash, I don't know if the computer did it differently or not, but I saw her scan the 20% and she gave it back to me, and then did my Kohl's cash. I have had it done the other way as well, so I guess it just depends on the store and the cashier. And I earned even more Kohl's cash.

They've got me hook, line, and sinker.

I always combine them -- no problem here. The computer usually applies the Kohl's cash to the full price and then the % off comes off of the remaining balance (which is what goblue00 wrote).

No problems here either. It says in fine print on either the Kohl's cash or the % of coupons that the Kohl's cash will be applied first, then the % off. That's how it has always been done when I used both at the same time.

It doesn't matter in what order the kohls cash and percent off were scanned. The Kohls Cash comes off first. Think of it more as a coupon then cash.

I have had them scan both the % off and the Kohls cash at the same time, but on the receipt it takes the kohls cash off of the full amount and the % comes off of the remaining amount due. They don't always tell you that and some cashiers I don't think know how it works, but that is how my receipts have always been calculated. So yes, you can use them at the same time, but the Kohls Cash is actually off of the store price not the % discounted price.

what was your purchase price? Is it possible that the kohls cash covered the entire purchase and as such there was nothing left to apply the 15% off towards?

Another thought--Maybe the OP had some of the items where the purchase price goes to charity. The discount will not apply to those things either.

Thanks for all of your input! The total price exceeded the Kohl's cash! I forgot the cash was $20 and not my usual $10!!!!
There was nothing to take the % off....I feel kinda DUMB!
