Kohl's has their Big One's Towels one sale. Are they absorbent and do they hold up? My son is leaving for college in Sept. and I want to buy him some decent towels that won't break the bank. Any ideas? Thanks.

I don't know about the towel actually but just want to share a thought on this. I have had two sons go to college and live in dorms. I don't know how your son is but both of mine would just "throw" the towel when getting back to the room for the most part. Because of that they said the towel never dryed well.

"wonder why" LOL :confused3

I ended up getting them some towels that weren't so thick because of this.

Just a thought.

I have some and while they are nice, and large they BLEED when washed. (I had hot pink ones) and even in cold they bled on everything. Not just the first washing either. After that Mom bought towels from Homegoods/TJ Maxx/Ross/Marshalls

I love JC Penney's "Linden Street Quick Dri" towels - they're soft, dry you really well and actually do dry faster than thicker towels. Plus, the bath towels are on sale right now for $5.99 each or $24.99 for a set of 6 towels (2 bath, 2 hand, 2 washcloth). :thumbsup2

I love the Big One towels from Kohls. Actually that's the only towels and wash clothes we have at the moment. I think they hold up very well and they are absorbent. The only downfall is it takes about 10 wash/drys to keep them from shedding. After that you're good to go. We have had some for at least 3 years and they are still holding up just as well as the most recent I've bought.

I don't know if this works for everyone, but my dd liked to use beach towels at college instead of regular size bath towels like we use at home. Got some great ones at Target and I think Marshalls. She liked having the larger size towels.

I have them and love them. I even have them in dark blue and I have never had any problem with them bleeding even when we first got them. I also didnt have a problem with them shedding either. I think they are good nice towels and like that they hold up well.
Just a suggestion but Kohl's often puts a 12 pack of washcloths on sale for like $4-$5 (I forget what brand) that would probably be good to get for him. Washcloths always somehow go missing.

Both of my older boys took Big Ones towels to college. One has been out since 2007 and still uses his towels, and the other just finished his fourth year. They are great towels for college, and you can usually get them for about $4 with the right added discounts. Make sure to use your 15% off if you're buying them now. Since it's only June, you might want to wait for a 30% off or Kohl's cash deal.

have them in turquoise and had no bleeding or shedding. I like thinner towels so they work fine for us

Thanks everyone for your imput. I'm just beginning to shop and saw they were on sale and 15% off to boot. I'm looking for absorbent quick dry towels. I will check out the JCPenney ones next. :)

I just bought the quick dry towels this weekend. They were $4.88 a towel. I can't wait to try them!
