I am not overly concerned with zoom, but just wanted to mention that the DX model had more total zoom (with a little more optical zoom included).
On second thought...should I be looking for more oomph in the digial zoom department? I see that Kodak also makes a 10x optical zoom. SO MANY CHOICES!! What's your experience with optical zooms, verchad?
I'd say go for more optical zoom. It increases the zoom based on what it actually sees. Digital zoom can make the picture grainy. You may not need it right now, but it will be there if you need it. If they will let you at the store, try taking a few pics with regular modes and zoomed all the way. Also if they will let you, see if they will print them or have examples of printed pictures at higher zooms. Regular stores like BB & CC might not let you do this but you can go to a camera specialty store to do more research.
