I'm so sick of seeing and hearing about Kobe Bryant on every station. It's like 24/7 Kobe. I've all but given up TV except Weather Channel and TV Land for awhile.

Let's not forget the real story, which is not committing adultery, but rather rape. I'm not interested in the status of his marriage, but if he did rape a woman he belongs in jail.

A baseball player can get caught doing drugs over and over and just keep getting sent to re-hab. A boxer can rape a woman, spend minimal time in jail, come back and make millions of dollars and be punished more for gnawing on a man's ear than raping a woman. A basketball player can rape a woman and all people talk about is that he cheated on his wife. American's need to get their priorities in order.

YEAH! And Tonya Harding got a life sentence for a simple knee-whacking. And Pete Rose STILL isn't in the hall of fame!!!

I have a theory about this phenomenon. These athletes are treated with kid gloves from the moment someone recognizes their talent. Grades are often handed to them. Mistakes are covered up. No surprise that when they get to be adults, they have NO CLUE how to act.

Oh wow the trial already took place and jury came to a decision. How did I miss all this. Ohhh that's right even though it's supposed to be innocent until proven guilty we like to jump right to the guilt part.

What facts do we know to be true: He cheated on his wife (whether through consensual means or rape). That's it at this point.

And yes I am tired of it!

My brother got so fed up with the coverage in Orlando that he called the local station and expressed his opinion. For all of you whose favorite channels are over-covering it, call them and complain. Maybe....just maybe it will help. Probably not though. America just loves a train wreck.

And yes, I am DEFINITELY sick of the coverage. (And I am a Lakers fan...) There are far more important things going on in the world rather than the need for endless speculation and coverage on a rape charge, even if it involves a famous basketball player. (Luckily, at least here in CA, the recall has taken over most of the headlines...but that's another story...)
